About the experience

The Maddalena Archipelago is just a few minutes' sail from Porto Sole Baja Sardinia, and a dinghy with an expert skipper is the most direct, agile, and authentic way to explore it in complete freedom. Seven main islands, dozens of islets, and a sea that changes color with every mile—from the transparent turquoise of sheltered coves to the deep blue of the open sea—in a landscape of pink granite, Mediterranean scrub, and pure white sand that has few equals in the Mediterranean.

The dinghy's maneuverability allows it to reach narrow coves and shallow waters that larger vessels cannot reach, offering stops in places of rare beauty accessible only by sea. The skipper selects the best stops based on the day's conditions, taking the group through the archipelago's most beautiful waters between Caprera, the Maddalena islands, and, when conditions permit, as far as the lagoons of Santa Maria, Cavallò, and Isola Piana toward Corsica.

Swimming stops abound along the entire route, with snorkeling on seabeds rich in marine life and swimming in waters of incredible clarity. Each cove is unique in color, depth, and silence: the archipelago is best explored from the sea, and even more so from the waters of a dinghy.

Itinerary

Starting location:
Cala Cucca, Baja Sardinia, Sassari, Italy
Caprera Island and first swimming stop
Arrive in the crystal-clear, turquoise waters of Caprera, known for its pristine nature and breathtakingly beautiful seabed. First stop for swimming and snorkeling among the sandy and rocky seabeds rich in protected marine life, in a silence broken only by the sound of the waves.
Sailing between the islands of La Maddalena
The route continues between the main islands of the archipelago, sailing close to the granite cliffs and smaller islets. The skipper recounts the history of the National Park and the naturalistic curiosities of each place we pass, while the dinghy slips into the narrowest and most hidden corners.
Hidden coves and long-term stays
A stop in the most beautiful cove identified by the skipper among the Maddalena islands: breathtaking beaches, emerald waters, and the absolute silence of a protected natural paradise. The most relaxing moment of the day, with plenty of time to swim, snorkel, and soak up the Sardinian sun.
