VATEA c'est mon "pied à mer" quand je suis à Ajaccio. C'est un vrai lieu de vie, toujours entretenu, que je vous cède pour vos vacances et un séjour exceptionnel en Corse. Avec ses trois cabines doubles, le bateau est donné pour six adultes, mais vous avez vu sur les raccourcis que je le recommande plutôt pour cinq. Honnêtement, la cabine avant, avec la forme triangulaire caractéristique de ces cabines, me paraît un peu "limite" pour deux adultes, mais c'est vous qui voyez... Pour ma part, j'ai connu pire en mer et, quoiqu'il en soit, le confort à bord est le maître mot de ce voilier équipé pour la petite croisière : cuisinière, four, chauffe eau, grand réservoir d'eau, équipets de rangement, vous faciliteront la vie. Si vous êtes "casanier", il y a déjà fort à faire à découvrir les environs immédiats d'Ajaccio, avec les mouillages de l'Isulella ou de la Castagna, les Iles sanguinaires, l'anse de Cacao où il fait bon pêcher l'oblade le soir: un fil de pêche, un hameçon, un peu de pâte à pain... le tour est joué : c'est à çà que vous passerez, soyez en certain, vos toutes premières soirées en mer avant de pousser plus loin. Avant le départ, le vieux port vous invite à un avitaillement tout en couleur locale. Les pêcheurs y recousent leurs filets, les troquets qui sentent la grillade et le poisson juste pêché, le marché de la place des palmiers vous offre les richesses du terroir corse, entre charcuterie, ambrucciate, et... fromages qui puent ! Eh oui, Astérix avait bien raison. Après ce premier contact, poussez la découverte hors du golfe, vers Porto Pollo par exemple, puis plus loin encore : gréement et équipement de navigation côtière entièrement révisés avant l'été vont vous conduire en sécurité, au gré de la douceur Corse et de votre fantaisie, d'Ajaccio à Scandola, de Calvi à St florent, ou, vers le sud, entre Bonifacio et Porto Vecchio, jusqu'au perles des Lavezzi. Ma touche "Monsieur plus" : Cette année 2019 révèle où passe votre investissement de vacances, pour mon plaisir et ma sécurité je le reconnais, mais aussi pour les vôtres : voiles (génois et GV) neuves, pilote automatique neuf, anémomètre/girouette neuf, bimini neuf, tableau électrique externe refait et moteur entièrement révisé. L'annexe pour quatre personnes est équipée d'un moteur électrique par respect pour le magnifique environnement que vous allez découvrir. Sachez que pour ma part, pendant votre séjour, je suis disponible H24 au téléphone pour un conseil ou une réponse à toute question que vous voudriez me poser. Enfin, pour une bonne préparation de votre voyage et ne pas être pris au dépourvu, notez que les locations se font à la semaine, impérativement du Samedi matin 9H00 au vendredi suivant à 18H00, et que pendant cette période le bateau ne peut rester à la place qu'il occupe habituellement, car la Capitainerie en dispose. We were 4 senior adults. The owner made it clear that his boat was to be our home for a week and that we should use anything on it, including his own condiments and personal items as we pleased. He met us at the airport, spoke good English and spent time with us to get used to the yacht. He advised us on our passage plan and alternatives and was very knowledgeable and helpful in every way. We had no problems agreeing the inventory and he shared a video of the rudder and propeller which had some minor damage on the shaft after the last hire with us. We were happy to sign the agreement document. The yacht itself was commissioned in 2001 and needs some minor attention. There were some small points that need to be addressed (compass needs re calibrating and autopilot kicked out from time to time) but the owner will sort these point outs. The new mainsail was easy to set although a understandingly a bit stiff to haul up and take down but it will bed in. The boat was very well balanced and steady even the 20 knot+ gusts that we had at one point. The engine was excellent and navigation with the GPS was fine. I would advise having a IPAD plotter that syncs with Raymarine GPS so that you can use it in the cockpit for the helm to make life easy for you. The sleeping arrangements need reviewing. The middle cabin does not really have a comfortable berth but the owner knows this and intends to address it. Front and the rear berths were fine. We really enjoyed our sailing and went North. Corsica has spectacular scenery and many small bays to moor in. I would advise hirers to ensure that they check the square metres given on the boat document against the receipt given by the Harbourmaster as we found on two occasions that they had put our size up into the next category and charged us more. Despite my pointing this out it was difficult to be reimbursed. We found that the people in all the places we visited were helpful and friendly and that berthing on moorings or pontoons was not a problem. The owner intends to upgrade the yacht and I am that he will do so. I would recommend hiring and am sure that he will make the middle cabin more comfortable for the future.
