We had an amazing full-day experience with Cris — truly the best skipper we could have asked for! He's been sailing his whole life, so we felt completely safe the entire time. On top of that, he was fun, warm, kind, and incredibly respectful. He made sure we checked off everything on our bucket list. We really wanted to swim with sea turtles, and he took us to three different spots to find them! We absolutely recommend this family-run business and hope more and more people get to discover it. We'll definitely rebook if we’re ever back in the area!
Thank you Mariela for joining us for a great day. So glad Bea and the kids found lots of turtles. Safe travels back to South America!
Chris was an excellent captain and host.

The idea for Local Legend Charters began when I was a young boy and would go out on charters with my father Kenneth Klein, Jr. Both he and my grandfather Kenneth Klein, Sr. were Olympic sailors, and have been an inspiration to me. After growing up on the water in the day charter industry, studying business on the mainland, and working as a Captain for four years, I decided it was time to start my own business. The name “Local Legends” pays homage to my family members who taught me about life, boating and the ocean. It also honors the rich history of our islands and the many people, past and present, who have left their mark on the Virgin Islands in a legendary fashion. -Chris Klein United States coast Guard 50 ton Masters since 2012
