Yacht charter in Marseille: discovering the French Riviera by sea

To remain neutral in the face of Marseille's charm? Impossible! Spread over more than 20 kilometers of coastline, this area is particularly well known by yachtsmen for its succession of beautiful and natural coves, which make this part of the French Riviera one of the most popular and appreciated.

The natural wonders of this place add to the beauty of the Old Port of the city, dominated by the view of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. Don't miss the opportunity to admire the scenery from the deck of your boat, be lulled by the gentle rocking of the Mediterranean, and enjoy a sunset dinner out of town.

Still not sure which boat is right for your trip? If you like adventure, a sailing yacht is one of the best options for your charter in Marseille. This area is, in fact, one of the most important sailing stops in the Mediterranean. If you are looking for luxury and comfort, a yacht or a catamaran will provide you with comfort, design, and extreme safety at all times.

Very sunny, Marseille is also the ideal city for lovers of relaxation and water sports. Don't forget your parasol, sun cream, and swimming costume for sunbathing overlooking the beaches of Estaque, Prado, and Pointe-Rouge. L'Anse des Catalans is the closest to the city center, and l'Anse de Malmousque is one of the most beautiful.

Sailing in Marseille

After strolling through the city streets and along the Old Port, or enjoying the view of the bay from the top of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, it's time to set sail. There's no better way to start your holiday exploring this part of the Mediterranean than chartering a boat in Marseille, a stretch of sea that's ideal for sailing, relaxing, snorkeling... And much more!

Looking for a great daytime adventure? Whether aboard a sailboat or a motorboat, the many natural coves that separate Marseille from Cassis will captivate you and make you fall in love. Did you know that Click&Boat offers you a free messaging system through which you can contact the boat owner? Take advantage of it to better organise your charter and ask for advice on the best sailing areas.

First trip in the region? If you don't have much experience in the area or in sailing in general, why not rent a boat with a skipper and let a professional guide you and your companions along the most fascinating routes, in complete safety? This could also be the perfect opportunity to learn important information about the area!

What to see in Marseille?

Considered one of the most beautiful coastal cities in France and one of the reference nautical centers in Europe, Marseille has 14 marinas. So where should you start your trip on the French Riviera? Here are some of the best options:

  • Vieux-Port
  • Port de Frioul
  • Port de la Pointe Rouge
  • Port de l'Estaque

Don't forget to discover the authentic charm of the port of Goudes, Callelongue, Malmousque, and l'Escalette, guardians of some of Marseille's wildest and most fascinating natural landscapes. These are all ideal landmarks for boat rentals in Marseille, whether for half-day, day, or even longer trips.

This area will win you over, especially during a nautical trip to the Château d'If, but also for slightly longer itineraries, for example to the islands of Hyères.

Add to this timeless places such as the Vallon des Auffes and the historic Panier district. In short, the possibilities are endless in Marseille!

Marseille is beautiful. The Calanques are a must-see by boat, as are the Chateau d'If and the island of Frioul. The city itself is also very nice, it is fun to just wander around and explore different neighborhoods beyond the Vieux Port and the Notre Dame. Great food and nice people.

Marseille and Cassis are amazing and the Calanques just stunning! We loved visiting the caves and jumping off the cliffs. In Marseille, we highly recommend taking the fun little train tour - a highlight of our day trip! Cassis is quiter but the ideal place to spend a week soaking up the gorgeous weather.

Marseille is perfect for a long weekend in the Calanques or to spend a week and go a bit further to Porquerolles. The Vieux Port, in the heart of Marseille is an excellent base, with all that you need for vittalling the boat and very convenient in terms of transport infrastructure. In high season it is important to book any marinas in advance (e.g. for Cassis need to call at 6am the same day to try to get a place). Keep an eye on the weather, as a strong Mistral might be a big constraint to your options.

We where visiting Les Iles by boat and it was a very nice trip! Our skipper Emmanuel drove with us around the whole island. We could cliffdiving and snorkeling there and hat a great sight! Even though there where many boats around because of the nice wheater, we could find nice and even lonley spots.
