Sailboat

A sailboat rental in Venice for 10 people typically costs around €650 per day and €4,500 per week in the high season. In the low season, prices are generally lower, averaging around €243 per day and €1,700 per week.

Should you rent a boat in Venice with or without a skipper?

You can choose between renting with or without a skipper with a boat hire in Venice. A skipper brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge, ensuring your safety and the safety of your group throughout the voyage. A skipper knows the best routes, hidden gems, and noteworthy sights in and around Venice. They can provide valuable insights and recommendations, enhancing your sailing experience. With a skipper on board, you can relax and enjoy your time without worrying about navigation, mooring, or other technical aspects of sailing. If you're interested in sailing, a skipper can offer guidance and even teach you sailing techniques if you're willing to learn.

Renting a boat without a skipper provides more privacy and flexibility. You can explore at your own pace and follow your itinerary. For experienced sailors, a bareboat charter lets you showcase your skills and navigate the waters independently. Renting without a skipper can be more cost-effective since you won't have to pay for the skipper's services.

What is the best time of year for a Venice boat rental?

The best time for a Venice boat hire depends on several factors, including weather and sailing conditions, festivities, and high or low season. The summer months, from June to September, generally offer warm temperatures, calm seas, and light to moderate winds, providing favourable sailing conditions in Venice. However, this is also the peak tourist season, so popular destinations may be crowded.

Venice is renowned for its festivals, such as the Venice Carnival and the Biennale, which attract visitors from around the world. Chartering a private boat during these events can provide a unique and vibrant experience, but it's crucial to plan and book well in advance due to increased demand. The high season, typically from May to September, offers warmer weather, longer days, and a bustling atmosphere in Venice. Prices may be higher, and popular destinations can be more crowded. The low season, from October to April, offers cooler temperatures, fewer tourists, and the opportunity to explore Venice's charm in a quieter setting. Prices tend to be lower during this period.
