A Herceg Novi boat rental grants you access to the best parts of this region as well as nearby destinations. Here are some of our favourite things to do in Herceg Novi to add to your sailing itinerary.

  • Cruise around the Riviera: With your yacht charter you can sail around the strip of coastline between the towns of Herceg Novi and Igalo where you can stop and stroll along the promenade, sample local cuisine and go sunbathing on the beach.
  • Wander through the Old Town: The city’s Old Town or ‘Stari Grad’ is home to a variety of architectural styles and landmarks such as the Clock Tower, a fortress and the Kanli Tower. Visitors can meander through the charming streets and admire the colourful houses against the backdrop of the sea.
  • Take a day trip to the mysterious Mamula: This island is home to a former fortress that is an integral part of Montenegrin history and a major tourist attraction. While there you can visit the mystical Blue Cave, a natural rock formation painted in a blue hue. There is also a myriad of pristine beaches sprinkled all over the island where you can test the waters and relax.
  • Sample the beaches: Herceg Novi is known for its beautiful beaches with inviting, crystalline water. Go swimming, snorkelling and practise water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. Some of the most popular beaches are Plavi Horizonti, Meljine, Igalo and Zelenika.

The best time of year to go on a yacht charter in Herceg Novi is between May and September when you’ll have a warm temperature with little to no precipitation. The highest average temperature is in the summer at 27°C, perfect for swimming at the beach! What type of vessel is best for a yacht charter in Herceg Novi?

The type of boat you choose for your yacht charter in Herceg Novi will depend on your needs and the amount of time you plan to spend on board. If you aren’t sleeping on the water and you only plan to stay a few days, we recommend a motorboat or RIB, which are usually rented by the day. For a longer charter, you’ll need a more spacious vessel such as a catamaran or a yacht, which include amenities such as a kitchen, bathroom and cabins to accommodate your every need. If you’re after an authentic sailing experience a sailboat would be the best option however, we always recommend choosing one with a skipper on board since they can be tricky to navigate.

Find the best vessel for your holiday in Herceg Novi, and start making memories that will last a lifetime.

The Lazure Marina is a nice location with a clean and quiet beach and good food close by. The Marina is within walking distance of the town centre and can be a base for other nice hikes. Aside from the Marina, the area is frequented by locals and has a nice atmosphere. Would return again if the opportunity arose.

Port of departure was Miriste. We visited the blue caves, organizing swimming there, then we passed fortess Arza and Blessed Virgin Mery church. Then we sailed around Mamula bay. Lunch was organised in Rose fishing village. After that we made stoppage for swimming in Njivice. On the way back, we passed submarine tunnels.

We sailed directly to the Blue Cave (it's the furthest point of our trip), guests swam inside the cave. Then, on the way back, we passed by fortress Arza, Blessed Virgin Mary church and Miriste bay. We made stoppage for swimming in Miriste bay. Then, we sailed around Mamula Island. Then we passed by small fishing village Rose. We had a lunch in restaurant in Rose (name of restaurant is Forte Rose). It is very nice and romantic place with traditional Montenegrin food and with the beautiful view on Herceg Novi. They have their own beach also. On the way back, we passed next to submarine tunnels.
