We have been to Croatia several times and definitely have an experienced view! I have to comment in 3 "tranches" or areas. Istria: Rovinj to Savudrija along the coast is lovely and enjoyable (and Motovun)-- definitely plan on 3 nights or more. Mali Losinj is its "own thing" in the greater Istria area and deserves adequate time to discover and enjoy (we spent 4 nights- and could have spent several weeks). I think this area is definitely a "jewel in the crown". Next up would be Dalmatia in 2 parts-- first would be Trogir-Split as a launch point to Brac (Sutivan is particularly quaint) and Hvar. We also visited Otok Vis via boat for the day-- good to see it that way but not sure I need to stay there? Good to plan a boat tour trip while based on one of those islands. Liked Korcula and should be visited and stay a few days. You HAVE to do Hvar at least once; we have been there twice. However, as time goes on, we might prefer Brac (a luxury problem to have). We will likely do a "comparison shopping" one more time to settle the Hvar / Brac question! Finally, take out a boat-skipper in Dubrovnik for the day and venture to the Elephite islands (Sipan) for a lovely time. The Pelješac peninsula must be visited if you are a wine enthusiast. Hope this helps. Tom in Connecticut, USA.

A great place for summer holidays.Clean sea, nice pine forests that provide enough shade as well as the proximity of a nice little town. Good for boat trips to surrounding islands. Given Mali Lošinj's popularity it is is getting a bit expensive.
