Where to sail on your yacht charter in Lefkada?

The town of Lefkas is the capital and is located in the north of the island. After a major earthquake in 1953, the city was rebuilt according to old plans and today offers its visitors picturesque views. A harbor and waterfront promenade invite for walks and strolls. Numerous restaurants and taverns give the evening atmosphere a vacation flair, where relaxation is pre-programmed. During the day, explore the pedestrian zone of the city, which leads to the central square Agios Spyridon. Furthermore, you can pay a visit to the Archaeological Museum. Of course, the best way to discover the island would be with a boat hire in Lefkada!

The island is very mountainous and therefore ideal for hiking enthusiasts. For those interested (and motivated!), take a hike to Stavrota mountain, which rises about 1200 meters above sea level. But there are also great flat coastal hiking trails to discover, leading to more pristine bays.

The bay of Vassiliki is especially popular with surfers, as here the wind blows permanently!

Kathisma in turn is perfectly equipped for families. Bars and taverns for ample supply. You can rent umbrellas and sunbeds on site.

Lastly, make a visit to Egremni, it will not disappoint you! This is the absolute dream beach which you should not miss during your yacht charter in Lefkas. With similar conditions to beaches in the Caribbean, you can reach this beach by small roads or better yet, by boat.

Choose to be your own captain or let local boat owners show you the insider tips of the Ionian island.

Hire a boat with or without a skipper?

When booking luxury yachts in Lefkada, you have the option to rent with or without a skipper. A skipper will use their knowledge and expertise to guide you on your trip, taking you to locations you may not have considered. They are also responsible for the safety of everyone on board. Alternatively, if you opt out of a skipper, you will have the freedom to sail at your own pace and to your preferred locations. Keep in mind though that if you do decide on a bareboat rental, you will need a sailing licence.

Amazing island with one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece! We stayed in different area. The best were Lazarrata where you can feel unforgettable vibe of authentic Greek village in mountains. Also we absolutely fell in love with Vassiliki. If you’ll be around check out the Βελουχι taverns with live music!

Great location for nice and easy sailing with short distance between destinations. Marina is well suited in the midddle of all adjacent destinations and in a waliking distance from the town of Lefkas with a lot of available services few meters away of the berthing position of the yacht

It was 14th of August what did I expect? 1,5hour trafficjam to get to the island via the drawbridge... But it was well worth it. This is a fantastic area to sail. There are little islands and bays everywhere and the tiresome Aegean meltemi is absent. Every afternoon there is a steady wind, great for sailing passages. Coves and bays everywhere with turqoise waters, little fishing villages with precious little space to moor on the dock, you usually set anchor nearby and cast a long landline to keep you steady. The bigger towns have sufficient mooring spaces and some provide water, fuel, AC power and Wifi! I totally recommend Meganisi and Ithaca for at least three days of your week. Nights are usually calm and you can stay in the little bay you just discovered overnight, no hassle. Of course during August there are many others doing the same thing so I recommend booking late June or July for less sea and land traffic.
