In general, IOLI as a boat was ok. But preparation of the boat for charter was not done properly. This was our eight charters within Greece (Athens, Corfu) and we do not face any problems with amenities. It was not arranged: - enough quantity of bedsheets, towels. And that is not true that all Chartering companies providing only two bedsheets per person for two weeks and without bath-towels. Look like this is policy of E-Sailing only or their local team at Lefkas Marina - Lighter for gas stove was empty!!! We had buy is by ourselves. - no dishwashing liquids. It looks like we should not eat on board and wash dish-plates later - no towels for drying plates after washing. And this is not true, that others not providing as well. It looks like policy of E-Sailing or their local team at Lefkas Marina - toilet paper - no even half of roll. We had bought them by our self!!! - garbage bags. We had bought them by our self!!! It was three wine glasses, but two of them with cracks!!! We had buy it by our self. Cleanliness of the deck inside and outside was not done proper. We had cleaned it twice, just to avoid blackness on our feet. Equipment. - bow thruster- was not working and this is for our good luck was repaired on spot - autopilot was found as not operational after 30 min from sailing. Thanks God, it was repaired on fast tracking. But, we had lost three days almost. Bimini and sprayhood. Originally designed to protect cockpit from sea/rain and sun. But, not on IOLI. The gap between them so uncomfortable, not protecting from the Sun and rains, which we have this June. During rain, not possible to operate boat from wheel stations as all rainwater came to cockpit and floods table, seats. At anchor or in Marinas we have had to use additional (our) canvas to close this gap and protect ourselves from sunshine. - mast head light (anchor light) was not working during checking-in. But, considered as not much important by shore personnel!!! In spite of my request to replace it. But, this is requirements of the COLREG!!! - fresh water pump. It working on his own program, i.e. without using water, pump can start itself and work without water. This can cause burning of the pump and fire on board. Each time, as soon as we are finishing with usage of water, we were switching off pump from main panel. And looks like, my reporting on this issue, do not alerts shore personnel.

Although the client’s report is quite self-explanatory about his personal concepts of a proper charter, we fill the need to clear out a few major inaccuracies in it: - The client was in fact provided in the first day of his charter with the entire stock of 15 linen sets of the boat and that is for just three persons and a two week trip. That is 30 bed sheets, 15 pillow cases, 15 face towels and 15 bath towels. We are sorry if he didn’t find this satisfactory enough, but it is certainly well above the industry standard and surely more than what he had paid for. Even then he kept being rude and aggressive to the base personnel and sending us erratic messages in the middle of the night, stating as “unacceptable” the fact that the sheets were not matching exactly the shape of the mattresses… - During check-in he insisted to take onboard a portable grill stove along with a 10kg gas tank, posing serious danger to the boat’s safety, and when disputed by the base personnel about that l he become even more erratic and rude against them. - Any regular charter client knows upfront that all consumables like soap, dish washing liquid, garbage bags, toilet paper etc. are not provided by the charter companies but are indispensable part of the client’s provisions shopping list. Client’s own misconceptions about what should have been provided by us, although never promised nor agreed or paid for, are not our own fault or responsibility. Nevertheless, the boat was delivered with one toilette paper installed per head and new garbage bags already put in every bin. Sincere apologies though for missing the replacement of a 1€ empty lighter in the inventory. - Temporary bow thruster control issue was solved on spot upon check in and then worked seamlessly throughout the entire two weeks of the trip. So none problem there whatsoever. - Auto pilot did present an accidental and unforeseen calibration failure in the first day of the charter. Clearly nothing to do with regular boat maintenance, since it worked fine until then and during the entire immediately previous charter. Although the pilot’s drive unit had to be removed and shipped over 400km away, to be serviced in Garmin’s central tech premises in Athens and then sent back to Lefkas to be re-installed in the boat, we’ve still managed to service this entire repair process in the blazing record time of just 48 hours! Normally, we would have expected to receive congratulations for the stellar technical support that we’ve provided to the client during this sailing trip, but yet we stand accused. Client did not ever lose a single day of his sailing time, since the boat remained totally fit and seaworthy for sailing at all times in between tech appointments. Client’s only compromise was the restriction to not sail afar from Lefkas for the first 3 days, which actually applies to almost 70% of the most popular sailing destinations in the Ionian. - Regarding the anchor light, the client missed to mention that the light was burnt during his trip and that the boat was delivered without such issue. Also, he missed to report that an extra portable safety light with batteries was supplied onboard upfront, to use alternatively when anchored in order to retain the consumptions of the main battery system over night. - Furthermore, we remained at all times in continuous and polite contact with him, trying to address any issue that he posed in the friendliest and best possible way. - Bimini and sprayhood arrangement of the boat is excellent and intentionally designed in order to allow clients both the option of sunshine or shade in the cockpit area. The arrangement was clearly visible in the boat’s listed photos and if it was not approved by the client then he should not have booked it in the first place. - Last but not least, due to its extremely early booking, the price in which this charter was offered to the specific client was discounted by nearly 40% down from the average market price, regarding the certain time period, range and age of similar boats. Nevertheless, beside the minimal and completely non-essential issues, the client still felt the need to evaluate it austerely with a minimal Value-For-Money score, called on the basis of mostly arbitrary, exaggerated, disproportioned and unfair claims. It is fair to assume that this may be the result of a predetermined price renegotiation strategy not paying out as he hoped for and seem to have planned even before he had got on board. In our turn we have to also evaluate our overall experience with him mostly negatively, and warn our colleagues respectively to be aware.
