What can you see and do on a Cancun boat trip?

There are so many things to do on a Cancun boat trip that it’s hard to narrow it down! Here’s a list of some things you can do during your Cancun yacht charter.

  • Swim in the cenotes or natural sinkholes formed in limestone caves. Go sinkhole hopping along the Ruta de Cenotes and swim, snorkel, or scuba dive. You can even go ziplining in Verde Lucero!
  • Snorkel in the underwater museum “Musa” and see over 500 manmade sculptures dedicated to encouraging the development of coral reefs as well as colourful marine life.
  • Experience a Temazcal ritual and purify your mind, body, and soul, in this ancient Mayan ceremony.
  • See 5th-century pyramids in UNESCO listed Chichen Itza, as well as the 98-foot-tall Temple of Kukulkan.
  • Sail the Caribbean and relax on Cancun’s best beaches such as Playa Delfines, Playa Tortugas, and Chac Mool beach.

What is the best time to rent a boat in Cancun?

While Cancun always has a pleasant temperature, the city has a monsoon climate which means that during particular months, there can be a lot of rain. Therefore, the best time for a Cancun yacht charter is from January to September for warm weather with little precipitation and high averages of 31°C in July.

Boat hire in Cancun with a skipper!

For novices and seasoned sailors alike, having a skipper on board can greatly maximise your experience with a Cancun boat hire. Skippers are not only experts in all things nautical, they are also usually Cancun locals, who can guide you to the city’s hidden gems and give you tips for an unforgettable holiday. If you want the best boat trip in Cancun, hire a skippered vessel with Click&Boat.

What type of boat is best for my Cancun boat trip?

If you’re unsure of what type of boat to choose for your Cancun yacht charter, think about your holiday goals. If you have sailing experience and like the challenge of navigating the water, a sailboat is a great way to get an authentic sailing experience. However, if you often get seasick, a sailboat would not be a good option as it sways on the water and can induce nausea. If you have a shorter holiday planned or want to travel long distances while in Cancun, hire a motorboat. They are a good choice for people who are short on time because they go fast and are typically hired by the day. Happy sailing!

Generally a great sailing area all year around. Marinas are generally a little unorganized and power-supply is tricky most of the times. Marine Cartography is not the best once in shallow waters as sandbanks tend to move with the currents and storms. Be careful sailing by night as fishing-nets close tp shore have very improvised and almost invisible markings.
