Explore the beautiful Greek island of Naxos with the safest yacht APREA MARE SMERALDO 8 made in Italy, a symbol of reliability and luxury! The visitor will certainly fly it under my direction. Explore Naxos with THIS yacht. Naxos, known as Love Island, is a stunning island with wonderful beaches and a unique landscape of raw beauty that is well worth discovering by boat. Don't miss the opportunity to take a selfie with the one of its iconic windmills in the background. If you take a boat trip around the island, you'll have the chance to bask in the Mediterranean sun on secluded beaches, far from the crowds that flock to the island in summer. You can also visit several neighboring islands of the Cyclades, such as the beautiful Mykonos and the picturesque Paros. Not far from Naxos. Naxos is just one of many beautiful islands in the Cyclades. The history of Naxos in a nutshell Naxos has been inhabited since prehistoric times, around the 4th millennium. Myths, legends and history come together and weave the amazing present of the island. According to Greek mythology, Zeus-Zeus, the father of the gods grew up in a cave on Mount Zas (Zas means Zeus in the old local language). Dionysus, god of parties and wine, met a local girl, fell in love with her and thus blessed the island with vineyards and fertile land. With finds scattered throughout the island, Naxos emerges from archaeological research as one of the most important centers of early Cycladic civilization. The visitor also has the opportunity to see important remains and valuable creations from the Classical, Geometric and Mycenaean period. During the Byzantine Empire, Naxos was part of the Aegean Theme, founded in the mid-9th century. After the 4th crusade, it was conquered by the Venetians Sanoudos, along with other islands of the Cyclades. Naxos became the seat of the Kingdom of Sanudos, which ruled under the title of Duke of Naxia or Duke of the Archipelago until 1556. Despite subsequent Ottoman conquest, administration remained virtually in Venetian hands. Very few Turks have settled on Naxos and Turkish influence on the island is minimal. Ottoman rule lasted until 1821, when the islands revolted. Naxos became part of the Greek state in 1832. Nowadays, Naxos is a commercial, tourist and agricultural center of the Cyclades with significant recognition throughout Greece and is preferred for its unique identity and products. VISITS There are a large number of important monuments, museums and sites across Naxos, of archaeological, historical, religious and industrial interest. Some of the most important are: The entrance to the temple of Apollo (Portara) located at the entrance to the island at the port The temple of the goddess Demeter The Sanctuary of Dionysus (Iria) Sanoudo Tower, part of the Duke's Palace Naxos Archaeological Museum The Byzantine Museum housed in the Crispi Tower The 3 unfinished giant Kouros from the Archaic period (7th-6th century BC) Za's cave Castles, churches and Venetian towers all over the island The Tripod windmills Emery Mines and the Overhead Railway Byzantine churches and monasteries (eg Panagia Protothroni in Sagri) For nature lovers, other attractions include: Alyki Wetlands The cedar forest in Alyko Sources in Aries The locals are proud of their rich heritage and therefore don't hesitate to ask for other suggestions and ideas. GASTRONOMY Naxos can easily be considered one of the best gastronomic destinations in the Mediterranean. With its long tradition in dairy and animal products, the excellent production of potatoes thanks to the particular elements of its soil, as well as the varieties of citrus fruits, its cuisine can satisfy even the most demanding taste buds. Seafood and the fish are always fresh cooked in different Naxian ways. Try local recipes served in traditional restaurants and taverns all over the island and taste desserts made with honey and local fruits. Don't forget to try the unique local varieties of wine and liquor. LOCAL PRODUCTS The quality and variety of Naxian products are incredible. From wines to meat and dairy, and fruit to honey, no one should leave the island without tasting it. At the top of the list, the local varieties of cheese and citrus liqueur (sweet alcoholic drink flavored with citrus leaves)!
