Where to sail in Palma de Mallorca?

Hiring a boat in Mallorca is a magical way to enjoy your holiday. In the capital of Palma de Mallorca, you can enjoy the island to its fullest, as you can navigate around the Balearic Sea with ease! Here are our top recommendations of activities to do on your boat hire in Palma de Mallorca.

Of course, our top recommendation includes gliding through the clear waters along the coastline and admiring the gorgeous beaches. If you don’t know much about the island, the general pattern is that the northeast has rocky cliffs and stronger winds, making it perfect for sailing or kitesurfing! In contrast, the south of the island is known for its calm waters and silky sands, ideal for sunbathing or snorkelling. Our advice is to head to Cala El Mago, Cala Major, and Cala de Palma. However, nothing beats taking your boat hire around and finding the “secret” cays that are only accessible by boat.

If you want to take in the culture of the city and don’t know how, you can disembark from your sailing boat and head to the gorgeous Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma also known as La Seu. The astounding Gothic architecture from the 1600s is a must-see. If you want to get to know the gastronomy of Palma de Mallorca, you need to try the famous bread with oil (pa amb oli), snails, or panades.

One of the best features about Palma de Mallorca is the city’s easy access to other top destinations in the Balearic Islands. For example, if you have your boat hire for a few days, you can consider heading to Menorca, the closest of the neighbouring islands. Here, you’ll find a similar landscape to Mallorca, but on a smaller and more quaint scale. This is a perfect destination for families or couples that are seeking relaxation. If you go farther out, you will find Ibiza, known for its lively environment. If you seek entertainment and adventure, this is definitely for you. Finally, if you have an extended period of time for your boat hire, you can visit Formentera. This small island offers a taste of luxury and beauty like no other. No matter where you go, Palma de Mallorca is a great place to begin the journey.

Very nice city, which moves a lot where you can find everything in terms of restaurants, nightlife, bars. Sea side we expected more wild places and creeks, it's still very beautiful. Highly recommend sailing to Mirador las Malgrats to anchor.
