1. Strong bad smell in front toilet spreading to front cabin. In spite of regular flushing smell persisted for whole trip 2. Jib is not a Genoa, it is close to a standard jib. It is old and distended and needs to be replaced. It was impossible to unfurl a small portion of the jib in strong winds: the sail being distended flapped and was useless. Equally it was very inefficient up wind. We had to use the motor extensively. 3. The mainsail is also old but in a better shape than the jib. It is very hard to get it right up to the top, and the boat has no electric winch. 4. The dinghy needs to be replaced. It is patched up in many places. One side was deflated when we took the boat and I had to repair it with a patch. Fortunately this held up until the end of the trip. 4. The bow thruster keeps tripping the fuse when used concurrently with the anchor motor and sometimes on its own. This was very frustrating when manoevering in busy marinas in strong Melteme wind. The Sun Odyssey 43,9 is very seaworthy and performed very well indeed in the strong Melteme wind which prevailed for practically the whole trip. The Yanmar motor is excellent and never failed. Adequate maintainance would have made the trip perfect.
