Ibiza: adventure and fun for families, kids, and friends

Going on a sailing trip in Ibiza guarantees adventure and fun. The wildest island of the Balearic Islands is known for its parties and glamor, which we highly recommend if you are looking for a fun atmosphere, and people. However, this little paradise has much more to offer. Ibiza is a Mediterranean destination full of possibilities for everyone, both big and small, with friends, family, or children.

Visit dreamy coves, watch unforgettable sunsets, feel the culture and history of the island, swim in crystal clear and calm waters, ride the waves on a board or inflatable, and breathe the purest air in a breathtaking natural landscape. There are many different corners, from wild and hidden coves to urban and equipped beaches. The little ones will love the adventurous waters, the young ones will dance until dawn, and the older ones will be amazed by the whole set. In Ibiza, you can enjoy a sailing trip the way you want, because you will have the comfort to choose and decide how, when, where, and what you do.

Cruise on a catamaran or sailboat in Ibiza with or without a captain and crew

You can cruise on catamarans or sailboats with or without a captain and crew in Ibiza.

At Click&Boat, we recommend cruising in a catamaran with a captain and a crew so you can enjoy your vacation without worries. If you have no previous sailing experience, they will take care of all the technicalities and problems, as well as guide you through places that only locals and experts know.

Generally, if you book your sailing vacation with a captain and crew, the cost will be divided into the price of renting the boat and the desired services, and the APA (provision of funds). The APA is the money that the clients pay so the captain can pay for the extras of the trip, such as the purchase of food and gasoline. So, to give you an idea, in Ibiza, on average, you can hire a captain for about 200€ per day, a hostess for 150€ per day, and a cook for 180€ per day. The APA can be an extra of between 20% and 35% of the cost of the reservation, and what is not used will be returned.

On the other hand, you can cruise on sailboats or catamarans in Ibiza with only a captain. This way, you can sail and explore the island without worrying about navigating the boat. Comfort, tranquility, and safety in the palm of your hand. Renting a catamaran cruise with a captain is great

Now, if you have the necessary sailing license and you are passionate about traveling on your own, you can hire it without a captain or crew.

Of course, these two types of hiring usually come with some extra expenses not included, such as gasoline, food, and moorings. Consult with the owners and our advisors if you have any doubts before booking.

Cruise on a catamaran or sailboat for your next sailing trip in Ibiza?

On your cruise in Ibiza, you can decide which boat to sail with. What do you prefer, a spacious catamaran or a fast sailboat? Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each, so you can choose the one that best suits you and your needs. And if you have any doubts or questions, Click&Boat is happy to help you!

The main advantage of catamarans is that they are very spacious, which facilitates coexistence and comfort during your stay. Their two hulls also make them more stable when sailing and help you not to feel seasick. Cruising on a catamaran is highly recommended for large family groups with small children, as it is easier to move around and carry out the different tasks on board, such as cooking. In addition, the draft of the catamaran is smaller, so they can get closer to shallow coves. On the other hand, this makes them slower and more difficult to maneuver, in addition to having a higher price than other boats.

Sailboats are faster and more maneuverable boats than catamarans. Thus, the sensation of sailing is intensified, with a stronger breeze and a whole horizon to cover, it can be much more fun and exciting for sailing enthusiasts. In addition, prices are more affordable. Now, all this is possible thanks to the size of the sailboat. Being smaller and having only one hull, the living spaces are narrower, making the boat less stable. You are also more prone to seasickness.

The complete itinerary for your sailing trip in Ibiza

Do not let the stereotypes blind you, Ibiza is much more than party and people. This small Mediterranean island has nothing to envy with its neighbors. In fact, we dare say that it is, without a doubt, a beautiful natural paradise. Blues, greens, golds, and whites make everyone who passes by fall in love. Its beauty will captivate you wherever you look, and the corners to explore are endless. At Click&Boat, we propose a very ambitious and complete itinerary for your sailing trip in Ibiza. Seven days of sailing through small rocky coves and beautiful sandy beaches that you can visit on your catamaran or sailboat cruise. Let's get to it!

Our tour begins in the west of the island in the second most populated city, Sant Antoni de Portmany. This tourist destination, with a very well-equipped port, will open the doors to unusual places. From there, we will start off strong by traveling our first 3 nautical miles between beautiful turquoise waters to one of the best coves in Ibiza: Cala Bassa. Although quite well known, on our catamaran or sailboat cruise we will be able to avoid the crowds and enjoy its waters in a privileged spot. After a few hours, we will continue to Cala Roja, where we recommend you to get off the boat and visit the Torre d'En Rovira and its panoramic views. Then we will continue to the cozy and quiet Cala Escondida where we will spend the night.

On the second day, we will cover about two nautical miles in total. First, we will go to Sa Figuera Borda, a most surprising corner where you can see a high cape with the rock drilled in the center. After this landscape, Cala Corral and Cala Tarida await us. The first, rocky and full of fishermen, and the second, with hills and white sands, are perfect to spend the afternoon before reaching our new home at night. Turquoise and secluded, Cala Verana is perfect for watching the sunrise from your catamaran or sailboat cruise.

The next day, the first stop is the beautiful natural pool of Cala Vadella. Afterward, we will sail 2 nautical miles to reach the long-awaited Cala d'Hort. Charming, natural, and paradisiacal, it offers great views over the mysterious islet of Es Vedra. And this will be our next stop, where we can not fail to see the famous lighthouse. Please note that you need to ask for a permit in advance (one or two months) to access the area of the islet.

The fourth day will be reserved for Formentera, an obligatory stop on your sailing trip in Ibiza. This island is a whole world to discover with beautiful corners, so do not hesitate to explore our most recommended itinerary of the area. To get there we will leave from the beach of Ses Salinas, which will be about 11 nautical miles from Es Vedrá.

After spending a couple of days in Formentera, we will return to Ibiza with great enthusiasm, especially knowing what awaits us! For the party animals, the area of Eivissa and Talamanca Beach (Clubs) will be your place. You can spend all day or just a few hours, you choose. Also, if you want to continue with the itinerary, we can sail 6 nautical miles north to Cala Blanca, Santa Eulália des Riu, and Cala Llenya.

To end our sailing trip in Ibiza in the best way, we will visit Aigües Blanques, a favorite of the residents. Then we will continue to the natural beauty of the Punta Grossa lighthouse, and reach the northernmost part of the island, Portinatx, Portitxol, and Torres d'En Lluc. The last stop before arriving back to the starting point will be the curious Punta Galera, a rugged coastline with rock terraces perfect for catching the last rays of sun before finishing our catamaran or sailboat cruise.

As we have said, it is a very ambitious and complete itinerary, so you can take just a few pieces and make it tailor-made, we look forward to your feedback!
