Lefkada town is the capital and is located in the north of the island. After a major earthquake in 1953, the city was rebuilt according to old plans and today offers its visitors picturesque views. It has a modern marina, which can accommodate about 600 boats. A harbor and waterfront promenade invites for walks and strolls. Numerous restaurants and taverns give the evening atmosphere a vacation flair, where relaxation is pre-programmed. During the day, explore the pedestrian zone of the city, which leads to the central square Agios Spyridon. Furthermore, you can pay a visit to the Archaeological Museum. Of course, the best way to discover the island would be with a boat rental in Lefkada!
The island is very mountainous and therefore ideal for hiking enthusiasts. For those interested (and motivated!), take a hike to Stavrota mountain, which rises about 1200 meters above sea level. But there are also great flat coastal hiking trails to discover, leading to more pristine bays.
The bay of Vassiliki is especially popular with surfers, as here the wind blows permanently!
There remains the question of the most beautiful beaches on Lefkada. Here, holidaymakers will not be disappointed.
Our first tip, Milos! It is a sandy beach to which it requires a small hike. You hike along the coast from Agios Nikitas and end up at this pristine and unspoiled beach. Of course, it would also be a good idea to rent a motorboat in Lefkas and enjoy the sea during a day trip.
Kathisma in turn is perfectly equipped for families. Bars and taverns for ample supply. You can rent umbrellas and sunbeds on site.
Lastly, make a visit to Egremni, it will not disappoint you! This is the absolute dream beach which you should not miss during your yacht charter in Lefkas. With similar conditions to beaches in the Caribbean, you can reach this beach by small roads or better yet, by boat.

From Lefkada some islands can be reached very easily. For example, set sail for Corfu with a sailboat. But there are also closer small islands too that can be easily reached by motorboat! Explore Meganisi, Arkoudi and Kalamos.
A somewhat larger island and also easy to reach from Lefkas is Kefalonia. Pretty villages and spectacular mountain panoramas in contrast to turquoise crystal clear water await you! Lefkada or Lefkas is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge. It is located between Corfu and Kefalonia and is a gorgeous island offers a perfect mix of nature and culture - perfect for a yacht charter.
In addition to its beautiful natural landscapes and sights, the island has beautiful interesting towns and villages to offer. Where the original Greece is often still very well preserved, historical places can be discovered. The most beautiful beaches of all islands in the Ionian Sea, if not the most beautiful beaches in all of Greece, can be found on Lefkada. Crystal clear water and white sandy beaches: you are spoiled with many choices when it comes to stunning beaches on the island.
Good location to do a relaxing holiday. Sea very beautifull , nice people, virgin nature . Very easily attainable and near with the other islands beautiful too. All the beaches in Lefkas are beautiful, the water is faultless. To see absolutely Porto Katsiki, Egremnoi, Kathisma that can be attainable with the car or by the boat. Simply perfect!
It was 14th of August what did I expect? 1,5hour trafficjam to get to the island via the drawbridge... But it was well worth it. This is a fantastic area to sail. There are little islands and bays everywhere and the tiresome Aegean meltemi is absent. Every afternoon there is a steady wind, great for sailing passages. Coves and bays everywhere with turqoise waters, little fishing villages with precious little space to moor on the dock, you usually set anchor nearby and cast a long landline to keep you steady. The bigger towns have sufficient mooring spaces and some provide water, fuel, AC power and Wifi! I totally recommend Meganisi and Ithaca for at least three days of your week. Nights are usually calm and you can stay in the little bay you just discovered overnight, no hassle. Of course during August there are many others doing the same thing so I recommend booking late June or July for less sea and land traffic.
Toured around meganisi to visit caves and beaches. Papanikolis cave was really cool and had lunch in Vathy which was nice.
