La Specia is cool place to boat. You are not allowed to go to Cinque Terra without patent. Nevertheless, beautiful landscapes clean water.

The area was lovely on our trip out on the boat. This particular area has a lot to explore, and we did some serious mileage exploring the islands and coves nearby. The bay of poets was gorgeous, although be careful of anchoring into the rocks! This is a great area if you want to travel around, although there are plenty of mooring spots on the mainland, and near the islands. We were slightly unlucky in that the wind picked up and the sea was fairly rough, so we struggled with mooring a bit. On land, there are plenty of lovely places to visit, beaches, shops, restaurants, walks etc... We'd definitely come back.
