Élevé dans un milieu de marin pêcheur à Cancale. Initié à la mer au berceau. Propriétaire de son premier voilier à 9 ans. Engagé dans la Royale à 18 ans : 1973 : simple matelot sur la frégate anti-aérienne Le Sufren, part en Afrique, puis au Brésil, et retour par les USA 1976 : retour à l'école : Saint-Mandrier - électronique marine 1978-79 : Second Maître sur Le Porte-Hélicoptère La Jeanne d'Arc : 2 tours du Monde 1980 : retour à l'école : Saint-Mandrier puis Brest base sous-marine nucléaire à l'Ile Longue 1980-84 : 5 patrouilles de 2 mois en plongée sur le sous-marin nucléaire Le Foudroyant comme navigateur 1986-89 : Quitte la Royale pour rentrer dans l'Équipe Cousteau : chef de Quart et radio sur La Calypso puis le turbo-Voile Alcyone - effectue un nouveau tour du monde par les endroits les plus extrêmes de la planète, l'Antarctique, la Grande barrière de Corail, l'Alaska, remonté de la rivière Sepik en Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée sur plus de 500 km (films sur la scarification initiatique). Rentre à Eurocopter en 1989 : spécialiste de navigation au bureau d'étude système. J'ai construit mon catamaran La Françoise puis je suis reparti 10 ans autour de l'Atlantique, je vis à bord et navigue au grès des vents
