Boat rental in Tribunj · Galeon — Galia 630 Sundeck (2019)

Awful experience, never again! Rude, aggressive, non-communicative & obstructive - stay away at all costs. Have hired boats on numerous occasions before, as a close protection officer, with an international power boat licence - never had a problem, never had a bad experience, until now! Paid for three (3) days rental, was informed by owner I could not pick the boat up on the morning it was booked at 09:00hrs due to bad weather, was informed to come after lunch (have the messages to prove it). First day of rental was Saturday, collection time 14:30hrs. Owner called and demanded the boat was back on Monday evening at 18:00hrs, which is less than 2.5 days rental, at over €300 p/day. Blamed me for this, despite them delaying the collection time - disgusting. Boat was advertised with Bluetooth speakers - they didn’t work! So no music during the two days on the vessel. Boat was advertised with towable rubber ring - when I collected the boat & requested this, was told it was broken and not available - this was a part of the decision in choosing this boat. No vessel/boat condition diagram or walk-through was provided, like you usually receive when hiring any vehicle, of any kind, anywhere in the world. They later sent photos of marks on the hill of the boat that we’re not visible or able to be seen on collection and blamed us for this damage, despite the boat never going anywhere near a hard-dock - it was only tied to buoys at sea, and docked twice in a purpose built new build marina with rubber jetties. They also blamed us for blocking the toilet with 2kg of toilet paper, despite there only being one toilet roll on board. Instructions were not clear, contract was skipped through (in Croatian) and then used to argue damages and non-contractual terms in order to steal my deposit. Owner rang me and started SHOUTING down the telephone saying “listen man, you’re in Croatia now, you got to pay the money man, I don’t care what you have to say, you’re in Croatia man, pay the money or I call the Police”. Would not listen or discuss a word I said, complete refusal to discuss like an adult or accept any responsibility for their part - absolutely disgusting, will never rent in Croatia ever again. Stole my deposit, ruined my experience, caused huge stress. Worst thing experience of my 45 years on this earth. Despicable. I will be fighting this with my bank and small claims court.

Boat is great. But we had situation with fuel. We went on gas station to fill up the boat. We will fill it to the top. But when we return boat owner said that we have to pay 40€ more because fuel tank of boat isnt good and when boat is shaking on waves you can not fill it to the top. And that wasnt ok from them, because we can not know does really 40€ od fuel is missing.

Very nice communication, flexible in terms of pickup/return time, very clean and except for a buggy sonar everything else worked fine.
