Saro, the Captain, knows well the places to go and not to go. I do suggest not to ask to go to the Blue Lagoon as is super crowded and not enjoyable at all.

I am not happy with my stay for the following reasons. 1. I was always checking with the Captain if the weather is ok to sail and never was told it isnt until I arrived wc left me no time to cancel. When I spoke to people working in the Marina they’ve told me that it was possible to sail even 2 days before I arrived. Which means I could have already cancelled due to weather. 2. The cabin I stayed at was not ready. I had to ask for sheets and make the bed myself meaning I have to put the sheets on the bed. 3. I was never oriented about the boat. Where the buttons to press for shower or water or pump. As a matter of fact the captain was so cheap, he said it ruins the boat if I let the button of water too long. Which means when I brush my teeth, I only have enough time to water my toothbrush then I have to go outside again and press the button. He was also hesitant that I shower inside the boat when I asked. He told me to go to the Marina and shower. Basically I had to ask for everything politely twice but always got some excuse so that left me feeling uneasy to ask. 3. The captain was more focused that I will shop for food but when I said that we aren’t even sailing out then I better just eat outside. He wasn’t happy because normally I am also responsible for feeding the captain while sailing. I did not sail at all so can you blame me why I didnt shop. I told him I wont chill on the boat if it isnt moving and id rather eat out and check some sites. 4. I coulda still cancelled my stay/sail experience but since he kept telling me maybe tomorrow we can go out and sail. This obviously gave me hope that everyday theres a chance. On my last day I asked him again because the weather got better and he seemed piss I am even asking. ( I am not expert on sailing but since I was deceived that theres a hope to sail everyday then I have to ask) 5. He asked me for a favor to bring him Jamon from Spain where I currently live and promised to pay me back. When I arrived I gave what he asked but never bothered to pay. On the last day I asked for the payment since there was no sign of him wanting to pay. ( if i had a great experience I wouldnt have cared for a €10 jamon). 6. I offered to take him to dinner as part of my work on the last day hoping to give thanks and I told him I dont want to write reports abt work while I am there chartering because I am on holiday. He managed to make me change the date on my arrival only to find out at end of my trip that if I was to schedule it the end of my stay Id probably have not invited him because my trip was horrible. Evrything was like pulling teeth when I asked for something. 7. I had no problem communicating with him thru click & boat and whatsapp when I havent arrived but when I arrived it was getting harder to communicate and for him to respond on messages. Making me really u comfortable. 8. He invited me to a wine tasting event. Met some kool people and in fact aome people I already knew from my old travels. I thought this was nice of him. He took me to another bar and met other people and this is when it gets strange. People in this group was insinuating that maybe something is happening between he and I. Perhaps this is just my observation but he just smiled and making jokes. This was obviously making me u comfortable and told everybody I hired SARo and chartered his boat for sailing. Everyone was stunned! I think as a captain he needs to be clear to everyone that I HIRED him for his boat and I am not this girl freeloading to get free sail. This was the last DRAW for me. 8. When I took him to dinner on my first night he was nice and telling me stories about his life. He excused himself to the bathroom twice and it took hom awhile to come back. I was worried so I asked him if he was allergic to the fish that we ordered. He said he isnt allergic and that he cant swallow and breathe because he had his gallstone removed in 2007 and ever since then he get this issue from tkme to time. He stood eating while drinking hot tea. He said this is the only way it would feel better. This alarmed me because what if this issue just happens while sailing. What am I supposed to do? I have no coue about boats? Was he healthy enough to sail me in the open sea? From my observations he is not FIT to sail people on his boat. 9. My last night ... he stopped communicating and told me he had to do alot of things on his boat. I never spoke to him again . No nada 10. I wrote him on click a boat that to be fair I am willing to pay for my lodging while I was on his boat but need money back since I didnt sail. I paid €300 and need some of my money back -. €200 will be sufficient since I didnt sail at all. I arrived sept 26 at 2PM and left early morning 4:30AM on 29th of Sept. I NEED MONEY BACK! He was a fraud and people I met from the event had said he was sleazy person and that people from Malta would never charter from him because of this. I will not trust this guy. My experience validated what people said to me about him in Malta.

Saro dit a really good job welcoming us and showing us around some not so well known but beautiful shore locations around Malta. For our group of 8 it was everybody's first time on a sailboat and Saro showed us the ropes of operating it. Saro was really friendly and his english is also pretty good so as a tourist you'll have no problem understanding his explanation of some Maltese history. Very much recommended!
