Our Bavaria Cruiser 34 Merak is a monohull sailing boat with an auxiliary engine, length mt 10.00. It is comfortable for 6 people, hosted in 3 cabins, 2 in the stern and 1 in the bow, but can carry up to 8 people - there are 2 additional berths available in dinette by shifting the table down; the boat has 1 bathroom with internal shower and 1 external shower, all with hot water; this boat is nice for having fun and relax with your family or friends. Kitchenware on board is available for 8 people, with hot water, 12V electricity (220V available when connected to the port with cable), sprayhood and bimini-top over the cockpit, tender. Marina di Portisco is our base, where we moor our fleet and is located 15 kilometers north of Olbia, in the north east of Sardinia; it can be reached in about 30 minutes from the airport and the port of Olbia, surrounded by wonderful nature and among the best touristic marina in Sardinia. From there you can easily navigate towards the most beautiful and exclusive destinations, finding yourself right at the beginning of the Costa Smeralda: the archipelago of La Maddalena, the island of Lavezzi and Bonifacio in Corsica and many others. We will be happy to suggest unforgettable itineraries for your cruise, the result of many years of sailing experience in Sardinia and Corsica. On this boat is available our Flex Covid19 policy: if customer can’t reach our base due to government travel restrictions to Italy at 30 days prior to embarkation, a voucher for the paid sums will be issued to be used until 12 months from the original charter start. Our overall experience with Crusing Charter was with mixed feeling: - people are friendly and reactive - Portisco marina is a good start base to visit Maddalena and Bonifacio and we enjoyed a very nice sailing week - the boat check-in started with delay on Saturday evening and we were left waiting without any clear instruction on when the check-in could take place - the boat is to be returned to Portisco Marina base on Friday evening 5pm for a first check-out (you can still sleep a night onboard until Saturday 8.30am) so basically you loose half a day on the renting with this early mandatory check-out which is not documented on the Click&Boat description - the formal check-out on Saturday morning was on time & effective, without problem - the boat description on Click&Boat is not accurate: there are no gennaker, battened mainsail, mask&tuba, ventilator, tv. - there is a 320€ welcome pack additional cost to pay at check-in for port services, towels, sheets.. it is mentioned on the Click&Boat description but not in a transparent way so it was a surprise to us after we rented the boat - the boat as such (Bavaria 34) is a good basic boat. We had a problem with the main sail sewing that was rotten (we couldn’t sail the last 2 days) as well as the automated pilot that was not calibrated to sail on motor only.
