Dear Jean-David, First, we would like to express our gratitude for choosing us for your recent vacation. We appreciate your decision to share your experience and concerns with us. Regarding your comments of issues aboard, we would like to remind you that you were required to sign an inventory list confirming the satisfactory condition of the yacht before embarking on your charter. Upon your arrival on board, no problems were reported to the base staff by you as you mentioned in your review. Regarding, the broken gangway, these issues were created during your voyage and were not pre-existing before your departure. The gangway broken during the charter, and we replaced it immediately with a wooden gangway to continue your vacation without inconvenience. Same is the case for the mentioned “ cabin handles” which broke during your 2 weeks charter. And still , we didn’t charge anything on check out as we understand that sometimes charterers can make small damages which is not necessary to be charged. This is our company’s policy and mentality for small damages and overall we receive appreciation by our charterers for this mentality. Regarding the kitchen equipment “too basic, lack of cutlery”. Our standard practice is to ensure that all our yachts are equipped with the necessary kitchen facilities. All yachts like Sun odyssey 43 provides the basic kitchen equipment. Regrettably, the specific specialized kitchen that you requested, such as a meat-cutting scissor, is not included among the amenities available on our small 2004 yacht. About your comment for lamps, during your charter, one light bulb in a cabin bursted. Occurrences of this nature are not unusual, especially during the duration of a two-week cruise. Light bulbs may occasionally malfunction or burst , same as is happening in our houses. And it is way than easy to replace. Regarding the “dinghy shuttle whose engine broke down, too weak for 4 people”. All engines within the category of this yacht are equipped with 2.3 horsepower. S/Y Irene is 43 ft yacht, and it has a little tender and dinghy suitable for the size of the boat. However, the engine operated without issues during both the check-in and check-out process. So we really cannot understand your comment “too weak for 4 people”, as a 2.3 HP outboard engine is more than common in this size of yachts. A bigger /higher performance engine is always avoided in small sailing yachts by any charter company as it is very heavy to be transferred from the yacht to the dinghy and bigger outboard engines are used only in big powerboats where davits exists for lifting the dinghy and outboard. In regards to your comment for “problem with the skipper who broke a window on the bridge and made mistakes by crashing the boat at the exit of the quay in the port with the inks of the other boats”. Our selected skippers are seasoned professionals with an extensive background and years of hands-on experience aboard. In response to your initial request for a French-speaking skipper, we diligently worked to accommodate your preference. After careful consideration and screening, we presented the selected skipper, who possesses both the requested skills and the ability to communicate fluently in French. Also, we received, your approval for the skipper prior to finalizing the charter arrangements as we sent his Cv and his contact details to have a communication with him well in advance of charter day. Accidents can sometimes occur during a charter, even with the utmost precautions in place. In this case, our experienced skipper was faced with challenging weather conditions while attempting to handle the sail. We understand the importance of ensuring both your safety and enjoyment throughout your journey with us.
