Before you rent a sailboat you should know a bit about the pros and cons of this particular vessel. Sailboats are eco-friendly vessels that provide an authentic sailing experience so you can explore Croatia like a true sailor. However, it’s important to know that sailboats can be unstable and they tend to sway a lot on the water, making them difficult to navigate in comparison to other types of boats. Therefore, we do not recommend chartering a sailboat unless you have sailing experience or you choose one with a skipper on board who will navigate the vessel for you. We also don’t recommend a sailboat for people who are prone to seasickness or who are pregnant.

When sailing in Croatia, we recommend that you travel through the centre of the country and move southward in order to sail along the Dalmatian Coast. If you want to sail long distances, we suggest sailing in summer when the westerly winds are strong.

What is the best time to rent a sailboat in Croatia?

The best time to visit Croatia and go on a sailing holiday is between May and October when temperatures are warm and there is little to no precipitation. However, it might be best to avoid the summer months, as this is the peak high season in Croatia and the prices of sailboat rentals will be more expensive.
