My name is Magdalena, I am 53 years old and I have been sailing for over 15 years. I am a professional skipper (Yahtmaster, STCW, SRC) and a diver with rescue diver qualifications. In July 2021, my partner Tomasz and I sold our house in Wrocław and started looking for a yacht where we could live and explore the world. After a long search and driving 17,500 km (not counting the ferry crossing to the Canary Islands and back) along the northern side of the Mediterranean Sea, the Spanish and Portuguese Atlantic coast, through Gibraltar, Lisbon, San Sebastian, the Pyrenees, Côte d'Azur and Ligura, Slovenia, the Istrian Peninsula , Dalmatia, Montenegro, Albania, the Ionian Islands, all the way to Lavrio on the eastern tip of Attica in Greece, we finally found our dream floating house in late autumn in Primošten, Croatia. S/Y Indian Wizard is a Bénéteau Océanis Clipper 473 from 2006, a very brave and fast yacht, at the same time comfortable, allowing for a comfortable permanent home, as well as relaxing cruises along the coast and between nearby islands. Océanis Clipper 473 was a true legend in Dalmatia, a very well-known and recognizable boat - the leader of the SunSail/Moorings flotilla, later used as an RYA training yacht, fully equipped to the high standards of this organization. We bought the yacht in December 2021 and lived on it together from February 2022 to April 4, 2024 (Tomasz unfortunately died), and we have been sailing on it since May 2022, sailing around all parts of Greece from the Ionian Islands to Rhodes and from Thessaloniki to Crete. Over the last two seasons, we have traveled over 5,000 miles and visited many interesting places to which we eagerly return, and we have met many wonderful people on land and water who have become our friends. Océanis Clipper 473 is a comfortable and seaworthy ocean yacht, 14.15 m long and 4.30 m wide, design category A (unlimited), equipped with ocean rescue facilities, including a 10-person life raft, pneumatic life jackets, active AIS transponder, EPIRB buoy, two independent VHF radios with DSC - stationary and manual (floating - emergency and spare). It has 4 cabins - 3 with double berths and 1 with bunk berths - we only take six guests on board, so no one sleeps in the living room unless they really want to and the other guests agree. In the mess hall and galley, and partly in the cabins, the ceiling is over 1.90 m. 3 bathrooms with showers and toilets, each with a black water tank, a shower on the bathing deck; 4 tanks for a total of 960 liters of fresh water and a fuel tank of 240 liters, a refrigerator and a freezer, a very well-equipped galley, taps with raw water for rinsing dishes and ozonated water for washing and disinfection (we try to be as little burdensome to the environment as possible, that's why there where possible, we use ecological and biodegradable agents). I have WEBASTO heating in all cabins and the living room, fans in the cabins, 230V inverter, bow thruster, electric motor, various bath toys, stereo CD/MP3 sound system in the living room and cockpit, Internet TV, laptop with Internet access, Wi-Fi Fi available for guests. I sail under the Polish flag as a commercial yacht, we have a Greek charter license, thanks to which we operate completely legally, with peace of mind (we do not have to avoid ports known for inspections by the Coast Guard and Port Police) and tangible benefits, including: VAT exemption of port fees, i.e. at least 25% cheaper, which significantly reduces the cost of the cruise for Participants. After the end of the cruise, we issue opinions to the Participants actively involved in the operation of the yacht according to the standard of the Polish Sailing Association (PZŻ) in Polish, and to those interested additionally in English.
