About the experience

The boat tour departs from Porto Mirabello in La Spezia. After boarding, we slowly set sail, leaving the marina behind us to enter the famous Gulf of Poets, a wide, luminous stretch of sea that owes its name to the writers and artists who were captivated by it.

The cruise passes small villages overlooking the water, such as Fezzano, Le Grazie, and Cadimare, until reaching Portovenere, with its colorful terraced houses and the church of San Pietro dominating the rocky promontory. Continuing, we encounter the islands of Palmaria, Tino, and Tinetto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the Cinque Terre. Here, the sea is particularly clear, and we make our first stops for swimming and relaxing at anchor, surrounded by cliffs and Mediterranean vegetation.

After passing the Portovenere promontory, the route heads towards the Cinque Terre. The view from the sea is unique: Riomaggiore appears like a small, colorful nativity scene nestled in the rock, Manarola stands out for its tower houses overlooking a deep inlet, Corniglia can be glimpsed higher up, perched on the cliff, while Vernazza and Monterosso open up with their small harbors and beaches. Stops are planned throughout the day for swimming in the crystal-clear waters, and depending on the program, there may be the option to disembark in one of the villages for a short visit or lunch overlooking the sea.

The eight-hour navigation allows for a leisurely experience, alternating moments of exploration with relaxing breaks on board. The pace is pleasant and unhurried, accompanied by the sound of the sea and the uninterrupted panorama of cliffs, terraced vineyards, and brightly colored houses. The return to La Spezia takes place in the late afternoon, with the light making the coastline even more evocative, concluding an intense and fulfilling day of nature, sea, and history.

Itinerary

Starting location:
Porto Mirabello, La Spezia, Italia
Portovenere
A seaside village overlooking a rocky promontory, famous for its colorful houses, the church of San Pietro overlooking the sea, and the authentic atmosphere that marks the western entrance to the Gulf of Poets.
Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto
A small, wild and picturesque archipelago, characterized by cliffs, sea caves, and particularly clear waters, ideal for swimming breaks and relaxing moments at anchor.
Cinque Terre
They offer a unique landscape of colorful villages perched on the cliffs, terraced vineyards, and hidden coves; views from the sea offer spectacular views of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso.
Lerici and Tellaro
They represent the most elegant and authentic side of the Gulf of Poets. Lerici stands out for its imposing castle dominating the bay and its promenade overlooking calm, luminous waters, while Tellaro, more secluded and intimate, retains the atmosphere of an ancient fishing village, with pastel-colored houses and narrow alleys descending directly to the sea. Together, they offer a perfect balance between liveliness and tranquility, between expansive panoramas and evocative, timeless glimpses.
