Itinerary

Starting location:
Lerici, Italy
Stop in Portovenere/Lerici for a visit
Charming seaside towns full of history and character. Portovenere offers pastel-colored houses, the medieval Doria Castle, and the scenic Church of San Pietro on the cliffs. Lerici, with its elegant promenade and 13th-century castle, is a favorite of poets and writers — a peaceful gem with a romantic vibe.
Stop on Palmaria Island for a swim
A wild and green island just off Portovenere, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Crystal-clear waters, rocky coves, and rich marine life make this the perfect spot for a refreshing swim and some snorkeling in nature.
Visit to the Gulf of Poets
A spectacular bay named for the many poets and artists who have fallen in love with it. Dramatic cliffs, pastel villages, and poetic views follow you all along the coastline — a cruise through beauty and inspiration.
Visit Bryrion Cave
A romantic cave nestled beneath the cliffs of Portovenere, named after Lord Byron who is said to have swum across the gulf from here. A mystical place with turquoise water and a magical atmosphere.
Visit to the vat and the tinetto
Two small, uninhabited islands rich in history and protected marine life. Tino is home to an ancient monastery and lighthouse, while tiny Tinetto features ruins from early Christian times. Both are a stunning sight from the sea — peaceful, remote, and timeless.

We were in Porto Venere for a few nights and had visited Cique Terre already. It is August and hot and crowded and wanted to avoid this so found Marco. Wow. What a great time. Sophia was our hostess who once the reservation was made, contacted me and made sure we were set. We did the 4 hour trip which included stops to swim, city tours, and a great sunset. We are a boating family and my wife gets seasick easy and we had NO issues. The captain was very very good. We have already recommended to our friends. Thank you for being part of an awesome Italy vacation!
