Southern Zakynthos: Turtle Watching & Marathonisi Island

Ready for a brush with nature? Cast off from Alykanas and head south for a day dedicated to the wilder side of the Ionian Sea.

Our first mission: Laganas Bay. This is the home of the protected Caretta caretta sea turtles. We’ll take the time to find and observe these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. It’s a raw, authentic encounter that reminds you why the sea is so special.

Next, we set course for Marathonisi, famously known as Turtle Island. We’ll drop anchor for a swim in some of the most pristine waters you’ll ever find. But don’t get too comfortable on deck, we’re heading to the back of the island to explore two impressive sea caves. Dive in, swim through, and feel the rhythm of the waves.

On the way back, we’ll cruise past the scenic Vasilikos coastline. We’re in no rush, so expect plenty of extra stops to jump into the blue. Whether you’re snorkeling to find hidden marine life or just floating under the Mediterranean sun, it’s all about those unpolished moments that stay with you.
