It was commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecid[1] to Nigoğos Balyan and completed in 1856. Formerly known as "Göksu Pavilion", this structure is one of the sultans' boarding pavilions on the shores of the Bosphorus. Pavilions are buildings larger than mansions that are considered the property of only the sultans and are built outside of palaces. Pavilions, which are not used for permanent residence, are places where the sultans spend their time to rest.[
