Boat rental in Kefalonia with Click&Boat

Kefalonia is a lush and breathtakingly beautiful island in the Ionian Sea with a wide range of destinations to discover. The three most popular destinations are Lassi, Fiskardo, and Lixouri. Lassi is located on the southwest side of the island and is a beautiful tourist destination with a nice beach nearby. Fiskardo is a picturesque fishing village at the northern end of the island with an elegant atmosphere.

If you enjoy snorkeling and diving, you won't be disappointed by Kefalonia with its hidden coves and secluded beaches. If you're really lucky, you might even come across the rare Caretta Caretta, the sea turtle that hides around the Ionian islands.

When it comes to nature experiences, don't miss the Cave of Lake Melissani, located next to the village of Sami. The cave is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and coolest sights in Kefalonia, and definitely worth a visit!

What makes the cave unique is that the roof of the cave has partially collapsed, creating a hole. In the middle of the day, when the sun is high in the sky, the sun's rays come in and are reflected in the water, creating a magical, breathtaking feeling.

Where to sail to in Kefalonia

In Kefalonia, there are many places around the island and cozy villages along the coast that you can visit by boat. So here are some of the best destinations you can go to when you rent a boat on Click&Boat.

Fiskardo

On the northern tip of Kefalonia lies the cozy fishing village of Fiskardo, which is one of the most beautiful and popular destinations on the island. Fiskardo is one of the few communities on Kefalonia that was largely spared from the island's 1953 earthquake, which means that much of the beautiful, original Venetian architecture remains in the community.

Fiskardo is also known as one of the more elegant resorts, so if you like yachts, upscale seafood restaurants, and classical music, Fiskardo is the place for you.

Agia Efimia

Around twelve miles south of Fiskardo you'll find the authentic and unspoilt village of Agia Efimia. The village was completely destroyed in an earthquake in 1953 and was then completely rebuilt with the help of the French. Today it houses a lively marina with pleasant tavernas and tasty, authentic food.

Sami

South of Agia Efimia you'll find the beautiful coastal town of Sami. The modern town is close to ancient Sami, one of the most important archaeological sites in Kefalonia. Ancient Sami was an independent and strong state and is mentioned in Homer's works The Odyssey and The Iliad.

The village is also close to the beautiful Melissani Cave, an incredible destination where sunlight enters through a hole in the roof of the cave and is reflected in perhaps the clearest water in the world.

Assos

If you set sail from Fiskardo and choose instead to sail along the western side of Kefalonia, you'll reach Assos after about 10 nautical miles. It's a charming little coastal community with less than 100 permanent residents. Built picturesquely around a bay, the village is the perfect destination for a relaxing and romantic stay.

For the history buff, it's also worth visiting Asso Castle opposite. Built-in 1593 to protect the island from pirates and threats from Turkey, the castle is one of the largest in Greece.

Argostoli

Argostoli is the capital of Kefalonia and the island's main city with its 10,000 inhabitants. Founded in 1757, it became the new capital of the island, as it is sheltered in a bay and therefore ideally situated for a port for trading. To the east of the town is the Koutavos Lagoon, which is a natural home for the Caretta Caretta turtles.

For the history buff, the Kotsana Museum of Ancient Greek Technology is also recommended. Here you can check out inventions and marvel at the skills found in ancient Greece.

In addition to a boat rental in Kefalonia, Click&Boat also operates in other destinations in Greece, which you can check out here:
