Itinerary

Starting location:
porto mirabello la spezia
Stop in Portovenere/Lerici for a visit
Portovenere and Lerici are two picturesque coastal towns in the Gulf of Poets. Portovenere is famous for its medieval streets, vibrant harbor, and the stunning Doria Castle, while Lerici offers a charming old town, with a beautiful marina and views over the sparkling waters of the Ligurian Sea. Both towns are rich in history and perfect for exploring on foot, taking in the panoramic views, and immersing yourself in local culture.
Stop on Palmaria Island for a swim
Palmaria Island, located just off the coast of Portovenere, is a hidden paradise. Known for its crystal-clear waters and rugged cliffs, it’s an ideal spot for swimming and relaxing. The island offers secluded coves, making it perfect for a peaceful swim. With its rich Mediterranean vegetation and tranquil atmosphere, Palmaria is a must-visit spot for nature lovers.
Visit to the Gulf of Poets
The Gulf of Poets is one of the most beautiful coastal regions in Liguria, named after the many poets and writers who were inspired by its natural beauty, including Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley. As you cruise through this area, you’ll be surrounded by dramatic cliffs, picturesque villages, and crystal-clear waters. The Gulf is an ideal place to relax, soak in the views, and experience the breathtaking scenery that has inspired generations of artists.
Visit Bryrion Cave
Byron’s Grotto is a fascinating sea cave located on the coastline near Portovenere, named after the famous English poet Lord Byron. It’s said that Byron used to swim in the crystal-clear waters here, seeking inspiration in the natural beauty of the grotto. The cave, carved into the cliffs, offers a serene atmosphere and an incredible view of the sea, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful visit.
Visit to the vat and the tinetto
Tino and Tinetto are two small, uninhabited islands situated off the coast of the Gulf of Poets. Tino Island is home to a historical monastery and is accessible only to a limited number of visitors, while Tinetto Island is known for its rugged beauty and pristine waters.
