Embark on a breathtaking journey through the Gulf of Poets, an enchanting stretch of the Ligurian coast rich in history, natural beauty, and picturesque seaside villages. This full-day tour will take you to some of the region's most spectacular locations, offering unforgettable views, refreshing swims, and delicious local cuisine.
Departure and Coastal Exploration
The adventure begins at 10:00 a.m. from the mouth of the Magra River, where you'll immediately be surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Montemarcello Natural Park. As we sail along the coast, you'll admire charming hidden coves before reaching the historic fishing village of Tellaro, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Continuing our journey, we'll pass a series of idyllic coves, including Fiascherino, Maralunga, and Eco del Mare, each offering mesmerizing coastal scenery.
First stop: Lerici
Arriving in the picturesque bay of Lerici, home to its majestic castle and sandy beaches, we'll make our first stop. Here, you'll have time for a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters, followed by an aperitif with local delicacies.
Portovenere: the pearl of the Gulf
Then, we'll set sail towards Portovenere, an ancient fishing village that will leave you breathless. From the sea, you'll admire the Palazzata a Mare, a striking row of tall, colorful buildings silhouetted against the horizon. The village is also home to the Doria Castle, the historic Church of San Pietro, and the legendary Byron's Cave, nestled in a spectacular cove overlooking the cliffs.
In Portovenere, we'll anchor in the bay, giving you the opportunity to choose from the following lunch options:
A traditional restaurant on Palmaria Island, accessible via a charming vintage taxi boat (recommended).
A seaside restaurant in Portovenere.
A buffet lunch on board with a selection of local specialties (€18 per person).
Exploring the Three Islands
After lunch, we'll sail to the three beautiful islands off the coast of Portovenere:
Palmaria Island: the largest Ligurian island, known for its spectacular cliffs, sea caves, and the remains of the famous Portoro marble quarries.
Tino Island: a protected nature reserve, closed to the public due to its military status, which has preserved its pristine environment.
Tinetto Island: the smallest and most remote, home to the ancient ruins of a 6th-century oratory and an 11th-century church, later destroyed by the Saracen invasions.
Along the way, we'll stop at the most scenic spots for another swim in the crystal-clear waters of this breathtaking region.
Return to the port
After a final refreshing dip, we'll begin our return journey, arriving at Marina Yacht 2000 by 6:00 PM.
