About the experience

There’s no better way to end the day than sailing into the golden light of a Cretan sunset aboard Avra, your private sailing yacht. This 4-hour evening cruise combines swimming, stunning views, and a peaceful atmosphere to create a memory you’ll carry long after the sun sets.

Departing from the Old Venetian Harbour of Chania at 16:30, you’ll glide along the coast as the light begins to soften and the sea turns shades of blue and gold. Our first stop is the tranquil Thodorou Island, where you can swim in crystal-clear waters and enjoy the calm of early evening.

We continue on to Lazaretta Island, a peaceful islet perfect for a second dip or to simply unwind as the sun approaches the horizon.

Onboard, your skipper will prepare a light snack served with wine or beer, along with seasonal fruits and soft drinks — the perfect pairing for your floating sunset lounge.

As the sky turns to warm tones of orange and pink, lean back, sip your drink, and take in the view — this is Crete at its most peaceful and beautiful.

We spent a wonderful day with Nikos. The location of the boat in the Old Harbor was perfect and easy to get to from the cruise port. We had time for a morning coffee/pastry and then a gyro/pastry afterwards, with enough time to visit a few swim stops, sail and enjoy delicious snacks, wine and soft drinks onboard and have a great conversation about Crete. Nikos is very responsive and the trip was well tailored for our children (6 and 10). We even spotted an ancient amphora in the harbor while snorkeling!
