Amongst the regions people dream of, you will find the Guadeloupe, located in the Antilles, 6200 kilometers away from the French metropolis. In the Caribbean sea, this clutter of paradisiac islands and islets attracts many boat skippers and tourists. People come from all around the world to observe the beauty of the island, go scuba diving or snorkeling, do some kitesurf, or just enjoy their time with their family or friends. There are two types of lands in Guadeloupe: The lower land - with a mountainous landscape, the tropical forest, rivers, and waterfalls – and the bigger land, which is pretty flat with plains, meadows, and beautiful beaches with brown or black sand like the surrounding volcanic islands ( Saint-Lucie, Dominique, and Martinique). Some beaches, like the beach of Saint- Anne (one of the most known city of the bigger land), is a white sanded beach. The city of Pointe-a-Pitre, in the center of Guadeloupe, connects the bigger land to the lower land. It is easy to find the island on a map, because of its butterfly shape.
