The boat owner, Mr Yasu, gave us lots of useful information about the boat and the weather. The boat is in perfect condition. I would recommend it to my friends if they are planning to sail in Japan. As two typhoons were approaching during our trip, we reviewed Mr Yasu’s sailing plan. The Seta Inland Sea offers excellent shelter and has very little swell.

Cruising on the internal sea with Yasu-san was a real eye opener, we visited ports that are rarely seen, and went to out of the way areas across the islands. In fair or foul weather, Yasu-san is a calm and cheerful character with total command of St Merry and thorough knowledge of the waters and coastline. We eat local dishes from island to island, and tried both the smooth and, somewhat rougher, local sake. The weather was very sunny; bright and blowy' dead calm; and wet and windy on the cruise, no problem! It was real pleasure.
