From lush river beaches to the iconic Crestuma-Lever Dam and the mystical Ilha dos Amores (Island of Love), this cruise offers a serene yet enriching escape from city life. Whether you're looking for scenic beauty, a peaceful atmosphere, or a taste of authentic riverside Portugal, this experience delivers it all in one unforgettable day.

The day begins with a welcome drink at Marina do Freixo before setting off upstream. Along the way, you’ll pass by a series of charming river beaches—Areinho de Avintes, Marecos, Arnelas, and Zebreiros—each offering tranquil views and postcard-perfect scenery.

You’ll then cruise toward the impressive Crestuma-Lever Dam, passing through its lock—a fascinating feature unique to river cruising.

Afterward, we’ll pause for a 60-minute break at Melres beach, an ideal spot to relax, swim, or soak up the peaceful Douro surroundings.

With 48 hours’ advance notice, we’ll also navigate to the enchanting Ilha dos Amores, where you’ll enjoy a memorable lunch stop surrounded by nature.

On the return trip, we cross the dam once more and cruise downstream toward Freixo, giving you time to unwind and reflect on the beauty of the journey.

Chartering boats is a hobby of mine. I’ve chartered yachts in New Port RI, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Algarve, Sorrento and now Porto. We had an amazing trip with Paulo’s team. Ben and Rita were amazing. The snacks on board were perfect. Best value in Europe. I definitely plan to book with this team/group again.
