Heraklion is a city in the northern part of Crete. It is well known for its historical sites such as Knossos, the fortress of koules, the old city center with the famous lions fountain etc. However it is also one of the best places to have a daily cruise with a sailing yacht as it is the closest port to the beautiful island of Dia ( 6 miles ) which is one of the best sailing destinations. We booked this private charter for a romantic day at sea with my partner, and from the very first correspondence, the attention to detail was impeccable. Clear guidance was provided on what to bring and where to meet, setting the tone for a seamless experience. Upon arrival at the meeting point, we were warmly greeted by a member of the crew and escorted to the beautiful boat. We set sail towards a uninhabited island and anchored in a sheltered bay. The day unfolded in the most delightful way. Hours of swimming in crystal clear waters, explorations on paddleboards, and complete relaxation under the sun. Lunch was then served and proved to be an absolute highlight, a perfectly executed Greek salad paired with succulent prawn linguine, followed later by the freshest fruit. The selection of drinks was generous and varied. We finished utterly satisfied, thoroughly spoilt by the quality. We then continued our sail around the island to another scenic spot, where we moored and enjoyed yet more swimming and leisurely time on the water. On the return journey, a breeze picked up, the sails were lowered, and we enjoyed a wonderfully authentic sailing experience back to port. This was an absolutely exceptional day. The crew were outstanding, professional, and genuinely warm. They went above and beyond to ensure every moment was perfect. The food was excellent, and the overall experience surpassed all expectations. We would highly recommend this charter and look forward to chartering with them again at the another opportunity.

Perfect experience, John was there from minute one, he gave us several routes to join… full of ice and water for the day. Boat was great, all you need to sail and all is working. Day couldn’t be better. We highly recommend John and his family! He even invited us for a drink and the end and we enjoyed too much to share experiences! Thank you John!!

We chartered the Alkyone for one week, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Our skipper, Stratos, was exceptionally kind, helpful, and welcoming from the very beginning. Throughout the trip, he made sure we were well taken care of in every way. Due to medical reasons, we required electricity at night, which could have been a challenge at sea. However, Stratos immediately provided a generator, ensuring everything worked smoothly without any inconvenience. His attentiveness and care gave us peace of mind, allowing us to fully enjoy the journey. Stratos also shared with us the beauty of his home island, Crete. Starting from Heraklion, we sailed to Rethymno, Chania, and Gramvousa, as well as visiting Agia Pelagia and the island of Dia. Each stop was unique and breathtaking, and Stratos always knew the best spots to show us. The entire trip was not only relaxing but also memorable, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality and professionalism. We wholeheartedly recommend sailing with Stratos and the Alkyone to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in Crete.

We had a fantastic trip. The yacht was in perfect condition. The crew was friendly and we had good conversations. The Isle of Dia is a beautiful place for snorkeling. We visited two bays and saw many different fish and an octopus. We had a delicious lunch. The Order and all conversation of the process of Rent was easy and all time professionell.
