Rent a catamaran in Trogir to tour the Adriatic Sea

Trogir is a harbour town in Croatia and is located in the Dalmatian region. The nearest major city to Trogir is Split, about 27 km away. There is also an airport in Split, which you can fly to from all major airports in Germany. Trogir is a particularly beautiful town in Croatia with some of the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic buildings in all of Europe. It is often used only as an excursion destination. But consider starting your yacht charter from Trogir! The city harbour offers good conditions and the old town, which has been part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since the end of the 90s, includes several residential buildings, the town wall, a castle, a tower and several churches.

It is thanks to the Romans that the old city centre can only be reached via a bridge or by boat. They separated the city centre from the mainland by a canal. So a leisurely stroll through Trogir is a great way to really admire the city. On the way, there is thus also a lot to discover and marvel at. A subsequent stop at one of the many nice cafés that line the route is a good end to a day in town. The numerous restaurants offer excellent Mediterranean cuisine and superb wines. Trogir also offers beautiful city beaches such as Medena or Pantan and the fabulous beaches and bays of the offshore island of Ciovo.

If you are also looking for some relaxation in nature, then you should consider a catamaran charter in Trogir. As the town is located directly on the Adriatic Sea, you can sail out to sea from the harbour in Trogir and enjoy the Croatian sun on the open sea, secluded from all tourists. You can also take a detour to Split and visit this beautiful Croatian city.

What is there to see in and around Trogir?

It is not without reason that the old town of Trogir also bears the name "Museum Island". Its history goes back to the Greeks. Of particular importance is John Paul II Square, where Trogir's most important buildings are gathered, including St. Lawrence's Cathedral, St. Barbara's Church, the Cipiko Palace and the impressive bell tower of St. Sebastian. The large clock of the bell tower, which was built between the 14th and 15th centuries, is impressive. The Kamerlengo Fortress is located to the south of the picturesque waterfront and can be visited daily from 9:00 am. It was also built in the 15th century.

The island of Ciovo has already been mentioned is often seen as a suburb of Trogir. The island's 6000 inhabitants are well spread all over the island. If you rent a boat in Trogir, it is a good idea to explore the island during a day trip and admire the beautiful beaches and bays and coasts from the water. They invite you to swim and snorkel. Among the sights of Ciovo is the pilgrimage church of Prizidnica and, according to history, was built into the rock by several priests. If you are looking for some relaxation, you can refresh yourself and sunbathe at the Slatine beach.

Split is of course also one of the places not to be missed during a holiday in Trogir. Especially during a catamaran charter from Trogir, this destination is a nice opportunity to drop anchor. The historic city is the second largest city in Croatia after the capital Zagreb and is surrounded by mountains on a peninsula. Particularly worth seeing here is Diocletian's Palace, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. A lively city centre and a magnificent waterfront promenade attract numerous tourists every year. Delicious Dalmatian specialities await you here. Freshly caught fish, lobster and other seafood are on the menus of many traditional restaurants. A particularly popular beach in Split is Bacvice.

Another town that is easy to reach during your catamaran charter from Trogir is Makarska. This town is a little further south of Spilt and is also a picturesque resort. A beautiful waterfront promenade and the town square Kacic form the centre of the town. Small alleys, stately buildings and museums offer holidaymakers plenty to visit. Fine, small pebble beaches slope gently into the crystal-clear water, offering plenty of bathing fun for the whole family. In the summer months, you can enjoy live music on the waterfront and all year round, the local restaurants spoil their visitors.

Trogir is a historic small town that dates even from the 3rd century B.C. It was originally founded as a Greek colony. Over the years it was influenced by many different empires, which created an interesting, historic infrastructure. It is no surprise that this small town is under UNESCO protection. Trogir is the best small town on the Adriatic coast to rent a boat. It is surrounded by the beautiful islands and locations which can only be reached by boat. The Blue Lagoon on the island Drvenik Veli is one of them. Situated only 15 mins by boat from Trogir town it is well worth the visit. On the island Drvenik Small, another small bay is a must-see. Vela Rina and the only sandy beach in the area. The nearby Solta island has several small fishermen villages that can offer a nice coffee and sightseeing break from the water. Many domestic restaurants by the sea-side are perfect for lunch break. I'd suggest visiting Stomorska village for lunch. Brac island is also one of my favorite nearby islands. Milna town, Murvica beach, Yugoslavian war tunnels and the famous Golden Horn. You should include this in your holiday plans. You can also visit Hvar island and the Caves on the island of Vis, however, this will be a bit longer ride.
