We hired this boat for a 4hr sunset cruise and it was the best part of our holiday! The crew were excellent hosts and made you feel like you were royalty. Always offering to take a photo or top up your glass. The communication and organisation was really good. If you’re in two minds on booking - do it!

Chris and the team were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Very informative and friendly. The boat was clean and we had a fantastic morning exploring Cape Greco. We will definitely be booking again for our next trip to Cyprus and will be recommending to friends and family. Thank you again.

Very kind people! They planned a whole trip (GPS) with the most nicest places around Kos. They also recommended a nice restaurant and offered us to bring us to our hotel. 10/10

Protaras Boat Trips with Click&Boat

On the sandy coastline of Cyprus’s Fig Tree Bay, sits the calm and family-friendly resort of Protaras, located in the small town of Paralimni. Protaras is also known by its nickname “the land of the windmills” which is a nod to its past when it was once decorated with windmills before becoming the developed resort town it is today. Now this charming and picturesque summer spot is dotted with hidden bays and boasts some of the best beaches on the island with immaculate bright blue water and long stretches of soft, white sand. The town is the perfect place for a family holiday full of swimming and lounging at the beach, but it is also an up-and-coming party town for the younger crowds who seek colourful nightlife. Take a boat trip to Protaras and discover what makes this small town one of the most sought-after beach destinations in Cyprus. At Click&Boat we have many options for a boat hire in Protaras to help you make unforgettable memories, and have the holiday of a lifetime.

What is the cost of a private boat hire in Protaras?

If you’re looking to rent a boat in Protaras, the price varies due to a number of factors such as the size and type of vessel you choose, how many passengers are on board, and the duration of your charter. The price of a bareboat rental in Protaras is also different to that of a skippered vessel. Below are some average prices for a Protaras boat hire.

Sailboat

To hire a sailboat in Protaras, the average price is about £9,573/week for up to 50 people.

Motorboat

A motorboat rental in Protaras for 8 people costs about £1,290/day.

A yacht charter in Protaras costs around £9,030/week for 8 people.

What can you see and do on a Protaras boat trip?

Protaras is known by locals as the beach capital of Cyprus, so it only makes sense to go beach hopping! Start in the dreamy Fig Tree Bay, which has been voted one of Europe’s best beaches. The beaches in this part of Protaras include Vrissiana and Sunrise beach, and they have everything you need for ultimate relaxation as they are fully equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas. For families with younger children, try smaller beaches with thinner crowds like Kapparis beach and Agia Triada. Protaras is also known for its mystical hidden coves and quaint bays where the water is bluer and the sand, darker. These beaches have a private quality about them and are more secluded, sitting in a nest of trees and rocks. One of these beaches is Konnos beach which is often regarded as the most beautiful in the area. If you like swimming and sunbathing, Konnos is a paradise.

Diving enthusiasts will feel nothing short of inspired by Protaras. The most popular dive site in Green Bay has underwater statues for first-time divers to enjoy as they hone their scuba skills. If you have a bit more time and you’d like to see more of Cyprus, you can visit other local favourites such as Ayia Napa, Larnaca, and Limassol which are all in close proximity to Protaras. No matter where you go, a boat trip in Protaras opens a world of possibilities to see all of the town’s treasures.

What is the best time to rent a boat in Protaras?

If you’re looking to hire a boat in Protaras, the best time to do so would be from April to November. There is almost no precipitation at this time, and temperatures are hot, with the highest average temperature in August at 32°C and water temperatures up to 30°C! If you want to stay away from large crowds and maybe get better deals on accommodation, leisure activities, and eating out, it’s better to avoid visiting Protaras in July and August as it is a favourite holiday spot for locals and everything is more expensive.

Ports where you can start your Protaras boat hire

The best port to begin your yacht charter in Protaras is in nearby Paralimni. Paralimni Marina is a chic and modern marina with 300 berths where you can safely dock your boat.

Yacht charter in Protaras with a skipper!

Click&Boat has a variety of options for a successful boat trip in Protaras. We always recommend renting a boat in Protaras that includes a skipper. Skippers are licensed professionals and take care of the logistics on the water, allowing you to sail worry-free. Skippers handle everything from sailing the boat to docking and anchoring the vessel. But perhaps the most significant advantage to having a skipper on board is the fact that they are usually locals, and can provide you with valuable insight and tips for exploring Protaras. Hire a skippered vessel with Click&Boat for the trip of a lifetime, and uncover all of the wonders of Protaras.

What type of boat is best for my Protaras boat trip?

Want to rent a boat in Protaras but don’t know which type to choose? First, think about what type of holiday you have in mind, as the type of boat you hire will depend heavily on your travel goals. For comfort or luxury, consider chartering a yacht or a catamaran. These are good options for longer hires as they are typically hired by the week and because they are spacious, they can accommodate larger groups of people. If you have sailing experience, a sailboat is a nice option, though it isn’t recommended for novice sailors or people who tend to get seasick, as they are less stable than other vessels. For a short trip, a motorboat would be the best option as they are typically hired by the day and because they go fast, you can cover long distances in no time!
