Boat Hire in Barcelona with Click&Boat

The coastal city of Barcelona is one of our favourites for your next boat trip. With beautiful architecture, tree-lined avenues, historical cathedrals, trendy lunch spots and dozens of beaches, a boat rental in Barcelona can guarantee you the holiday of a lifetime. To put it briefly, there is no city that can compete with Barcelona’s vibe. Hire a boat with Click&Boat to find out more about what this beautiful city has to offer.

Where to sail in Barcelona?

Nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the Montserrat mountain range, Barcelona’s iconic location provides visitors with a stunning backdrop for their boat charter. From the city, you can sail towards the south to one of the many beaches in Castelldefels, Garraf and Sitges; a cute coastal town which should be high up on your itinerary. We also recommend travelling north towards the Costa Brava, home to beautiful beaches and seclusive coves. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, it is also possible to venture out towards the Balearic Islands. Mallorca, the largest island of the archipelago, is only 112 nautical miles from Barcelona and is entirely worth the trip.

How much is it to rent a boat in Barcelona?

The price of a yacht charter in Barcelona depends on several factors, such as the type of boat you require, the age of the boat, the season and duration of the charter, as well as any other services that you may need. It is possible to get a bareboat rental in Barcelona, but you can also opt for a skipper if you fancy a hands-free sailing trip.

For a motorboat, you can expect to pay an average of £250/day in the low season and £450/day in the summer period. If you fancy a more authentic sailing experience, you can opt for a sailboat for an average of £250/day in the low season and £350/day in the high season. For a smoother trip, we highly recommend hiring a catamaran. This type of boat is ideal for exploring hidden coves near Barcelona. A catamaran charter costs an average of £550/day in the low season and £650/day in the high season. If you desire a more premium experience, you can opt for a yacht for an average of £2,500/day in the low season and £3,000/day in the warmer months.

As well as a skipper, you also have the opportunity to have a highly-trained crew onboard your vessel. The crew will be here to tend to all your needs, such as house cleaning and dining. Many boat owners also offer water sports equipment - if you fancy scuba diving, snorkelling or even paddleboarding during your yacht charter in Barcelona, this is perfect for you! Additional fees will apply for this, but feel free to contact the owner in advance on our internal messaging service to check the different possibilities available.

The harbours in Barcelona

In Barcelona, there are plenty of places to hire and moor your boat. Our favourites include Port Olimpic, the biggest harbour in Barcelona; and Port Vell, where you can enjoy stunning views of the vintage cable cars (built for the 1929 World Expo) and the Montjuic Hill.

These harbours will guarantee you easy access to the open waters; perfect for venturing out and discovering the coast. If you sail south towards the southern beaches, you will see numerous Barcelona landmarks along the way, such as the iconic W Hotel and the Montjuic Castle. On the other hand, if you travel north, you will sail along the beaches of Poblenou, one of Barcelona’s trendiest neighbourhoods and worth the visit during your stay.

What is there to see in Barcelona?

The most ideal thing about a trip to Barcelona is the fact that the city offers something for everyone. Whether you fancy visiting historical monuments, shopping in cute boutiques, discovering authentic neighbourhoods or taking a dip in the Mediterranean, a boat hire in Barcelona will leave you longing for more.

In the city, we highly recommend spending hours wandering around the Gothic Quarter, home to numerous medieval buildings and the famous Cathedral of Barcelona. In El Born, located only a stone's throw away, you can indulge in delicious tapas at one of the many trendy eateries in the neighbourhood. If you admire fine architecture, the Eixample district should be high on your list, with stunning Catalan modernista buildings. This area is home to some of Gaudi’s masterpieces, including the Sagrada Familia, the Casa Battlo and the Casa Mila. If you venture out into the hills, you will also enjoy visiting Park Guell, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Barcelona also boasts many museums to visit such as the Picasso Museum, the Fundacion Miro and the Design Museum.

With your yacht charter, we highly recommend venturing out of the city and exploring the countless places that the surrounding area has to offer. In the South, you can visit the beautiful coastal town of Sitges, known for its stunning beaches and whitewashed buildings. Towards the North, you can spend the day sailing along the Costa Brava, home to pristine beaches and crystal-clear water. Owing to the rich flora and fauna under the surface, the Costa Brava is a perfect place for scuba-diving.

What is the best time to go to Barcelona?

Thanks to Barcelona’s ideal location in southwestern Europe, visitors can enjoy this city all year round. Although it is better to charter a boat between April and October for warmer temperatures, you can still enjoy the city and the surrounding region when the weather is cooler. July and August are the two hottest months but are also the busiest times of year to visit Barcelona. If you are wishing to escape the crowds, we highly recommend hiring a boat in April and May, or in September and October. During this period, you will have a more authentic experience in the city.

Barcelona is a city whith a wide variety of things to do but seeing the city from the sea or swiming away from the crowded beaches is an excellent option!

I wanted to schedule an experience for my team and I to celebrate our company and all our hard work. I thought a catamaran would be the perfect outing. My expectations were exceeded. It was 20 of us viewing the city as the sunset, swimming, drinking, dancing. It was perfect!

Great location for sailing, and it was a perfect for us because we used the boat for a photoshoot so we had people swimming around the boat. We were on the beach Vilanova i Geltrú which has a great beach club for lunch la Daurada (although service was very slow). We had great weather, the seas was awesome - really warm, and all round was what we needed for our shoot.

All very nice, completely changed my opinion on Barcelona from previous trips. Stay away from the Las Ramblas and everything is better. We stayed in the diagonal area near the beach. Boat trip is well worth the money. Traditional restaurants are great value and very nice. Will come again next year.
