Boat Hire in the Canary Islands with Click&Boat

The Canary Islands is one of the most ideal charter destinations for your next holiday and you’ll understand why. It may only be a 4-hour flight from the UK, but landing on one of the archipelago’s 8 islands will make you feel as if you’ve stumbled onto another planet. Dense forests, lunar-like deserts and long ocean beaches are some of the mystic landscapes that can be discovered here. Hire a boat with Click&Boat to embrace all that is on offer!

Where to sail in the Canary Islands?

The 8 Canary Islands - Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa - guarantee visitors with a warm climate all year round. With 300 days a year of sunshine and an air temperature which never drops below 15°C, the Canaries is a fantastic place for chartering a yacht. You’ll be able to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and even visit places which are inaccessible by land. The crystal-clear water of the Atlantic Ocean with the impressive backdrop of the volcanoes will easily make you forget that you are only a stone's throw away from mainland Europe. If you're looking for a memorable vacation experience in Tenerife, boat hire is the perfect way to explore the stunning coastline and crystal-clear waters. For those venturing to Lanzarote, a Lanzarote boat hire provides an incredible opportunity to witness its volcanic landscapes and hidden coves from the sea.

The harbours in the Canary Islands

With your Canary Island yacht, you will be able to visit the beautiful coastlines and go to places which are inaccessible by land. It is also possible to island hop to enjoy the different destinations on offer. Whether you wish to have a skipper onboard or you get a bareboat charter, here are some of the best harbours to moor your yacht when visiting:

  • Puerto del Rosario Harbour (Fuerteventura)
  • Marina del Sur (Tenerife)
  • El Castillo Harbour (Fuerteventura)
  • Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote)
  • Playa de Santiago Harbour (La Gomera)
  • Playa Blanca Marina (Lanzarote)
  • Puerto de Pasito Blanco (Gran Canaria)

How much is it to hire a boat in the Canary Islands cost?

The price of a yacht charter in the Canary Islands depends on various factors, such as the duration, the type of boat, whether there is a captain on board or not, and any additional services that you may require.

  • If you’re opting for a motorboat hire in the Canary Islands, the price starts at £350 per day. If you are keen on trying out different water sports, feel free to check with the owner if any equipment is available. This could include water skis, wakeboards, kneeboards, masks, snorkels as well as diving equipment.
  • If you are more of a sailing enthusiast, you can hire a sailboat in the Canary Islands with prices starting at £250 per day. For boats which include cabins, please make sure to check the number of berths in order to fit the right number of people. With some of the best sailing conditions in the world, visitors are spoilt for choice when they arrive in the Canaries.
  • Another perfect way to discover this stunning archipelago is by catamaran. Catamarans offer more space and stability onboard and provide visitors with smooth navigation between islands. Prices start at £400 per day.

Please note that prices in the Canary Islands do not vary considerably between the high season in July and August and the low season in December and January. As the climate in this archipelago is mild all year round, visitors are guaranteed plenty of sun and excellent conditions for cruising the ocean.

Hire a boat with a skipper

If you wish to spend your next boating holiday hands-free, you can opt for a skippered charter. The price of your hire will be a bit more costly, but you will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy navigating through the turquoise water. The skippers available on our boat charters know all of the best routes, local attractions and hidden gems - this can be the ideal way to see a more authentic side of this beautiful archipelago.

However, if you wish to have more of a sense of freedom, you can also opt for a bareboat rental in the Canary Islands. We have a wide array of boats available to hire, which can be used without a skipper onboard. Please note that in Spain, a license will be required for boats which are longer than 5 metres (6 metres for sailboats) and with a power output of more than 15 hp.

What is there to see in the Canary Islands?

The Canary Islands is a fantastic destination for your next boat holiday. Whether you are wanting to jet off during the summer months or grab a bit of the winter sun in December, the appealing climate all year round makes this an ideal destination to charter a yacht. Our must-sees include:

  • The breathtaking Teide volcano on the island of Tenerife, home to breathtaking hiking trails and lunar-like landscapes
  • The vibrant towns of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, two renowned hubs for culture and history
  • The majestic Los Gigantes cliffs in Tenerife, with beautiful vistas and opportunities to see dolphins and whales
  • The stunning Corralejo National Park in Fuerteventura, famous for its neverending sand dunes which make for an ideal place to kitesurf
  • The Playa de Papagayo in Lanzarote, with hidden coves and emerald water
  • The heavenly Meriga Forest located near the town of Agulo on the island of La Gomera, known by many as the “green balcony”
  • The cute coastal town of Puerto de Mogan in Gran Canaria, with charming white houses, colourful flowers and markets with local specialities and produces
