Sailing Seattle

Renting a boat in Seattle could be an ideal opportunity to visit Blake Island, home to a marine camping and moorage park with a long saltwater shoreline. You can dock at the local marina and enjoy the park’s meandering hiking and biking trails. If you are lucky, you may encounter one of the deers that occasionally swim to the island. Many boaters also visit Bainbridge Island, a hilly island just 9 miles from downtown Seattle. One of the island’s main attractions is the famous Bloedel Reserve, a forest garden ideal for a hiking excursion on the weekend. For new-comers, one spot you should check out as well  is Deception Pass, it is a strait that separates the islands of Whidbey and Fidalgo. The steel bridges connecting the two islands are one of the region’s most celebrated landmarks. This narrow waterway also connects Puget Sound with the famous Strait of Juan de Fuca where the Canada-U.S. border is located.

Rent a boat in Seattle!

More and more people are deciding to rent a boat in Seattle to admire the unparalleled natural beauty of the U.S. northwest coast. For example, many boating enthusiasts rent a boat in Seattle to explore Puget Sound, a 100-mile estuary that includes a significant number of interconnected waterways and basins. You will enjoy sailing in this boating paradise where there is always a new place to discover.

Another reason why many locals and visitors rent a boat in Seattle is due to the breathtaking view of Mount Rainier. Graciously towering over the city of Seattle, ‘the mountain’, as the locals call it, is best admired from the deck of a boat. A great spot for a view of the snow-capped summit is Point Robinson Lighthouse. Located on the northeast side of Maury Island, it offers you a magnificent view of Puget Sound and Mount Rainier on the horizon.

Seattle is a great for boating in the summer when the weather isnt rainy. I Highly suggest cruising around lake union and taking in the sights of the city in the evening after a hot summer's day. Theres lots of other friendly boaters out and the city scape makes a perfect backdrop to a sunset.

Josh

Great city, go and dock at Ivars on Lake Union they have an awesome location right on the lake and free docking. While there you can eat and also use the bathroom. Makes for a great destination of break along the way during your boat rental. Also check out White Swan on South Lake Union. They have three slips open for customers and amazing food!

Josh
