This was really a pleasant surprise. After the somewhat poor communication on this platform and WhatsApp, I didn’t really know what to expect. And, frankly, I don’t think the person running their online platform does the best job of actually communicating with their team. Our pickup was supposed to be in one place, but we needed to wrangle at the last minute to get the driver where he belonged. Our cruise was supposed to have four food items, only three ever showed up, etc. Once we arrived at the beach we had to wait for maybe half an hour for the boat to be repositioned. BUT the actual boat ended up being great, very spacious for our group of 14 (could fit double that), with two bathrooms. The crew was great, fun and kind. The experience was great, including the snorkeling and the slide. I would ultimately highly recommend it, and would suggest you bring 10% of the booking value in cash for tips for the hardworking often Haitian crew!

First about Sharon - She is an incredibly pleasant and kind person. This Charter was mainly for her to celebrate her 6 year old son's birthday. Not only is Sharon pleasant and kind, she is adaptable! Her original charter date was 03/30 but about 4 days out the weather forecast was horrible that day. So she agreed to make it 03/29. The trip was perfect. Sharon's family is a beautiful family and they all enjoyed the boat, snorkeling and the chef. We look foward to see the photographer's drone footage and still shots. Oh, did I mention that Sharon arranged with a party planner to have banners and balloons for her son's party as well? Sharon is a classy person and any charterer would be pleased to have her on board.

What is the price of bareboat charters near me?

If you’re looking for a bareboat charter in or around the Dominican Republic, you should know that the final price will depend on various factors such as the time of year, how many people are on board the vessel, the size and type of vessel and the location of your charter. Of course, if you decide to have a skipper on board your vessel, the cost will likely be higher than that of a bareboat. Below are some average prices of a yacht charter in the Dominican Republic by boat type.

Sailboat

€12,180/week for 10 people.

Motorboat

€1,600/day in the high season and €1,300/day in the low season for 12 people.

Catamaran

€1,830/week for 20 people.

Yacht

€24,500/week in the high season and €22,000/week in the low season for 18 people.

What can you see and do with a boat rental in the Dominican Republic?

There’s a reason that the Dominican Republic is one of the most sought-after destinations in the Caribbean, and it’s because it is overflowing with things to do! Here are some of our favourite things to do while on a yacht charter in the Dominican Republic.

  • Go beach hopping: If there’s one thing you have to do in the Dominican Republic, it’s going to the beach! Soak up the sun on the white sand beach of Playa Fronton or if you prefer golden sand, Playa Dorada. Other top beaches include Punta Cana, Playa Riu Bambu and the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean Playa Rincon.
  • Get acquainted with marine life: There are many places to snorkel and scuba dive in the Dominican Republic where you’ll encounter varieties of fish and even shipwrecks. Head to La Caleta National park to deep dive and see walls, reefs and marine life like sea turtles and nurse sharks. Another popular dive site is Bayahibe, a small fishing village that offers clear waters with excellent visibility. While there you can explore the healthy reef, and see some mysterious wrecks lurking on the sea floor.
  • Learn about history in Santo Domingo: Head to the country’s capital to see cultural sites like the Colonial City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can also immerse yourself in Dominican culture by sampling local cuisine and strolling through the streets to tour various museums and galleries.
  • Experience freshwater: Head to the mountain town of Jarabacoa where you can go river rafting and take a dip in the natural pools of Baiguate.

What is the best time for a yacht charter in the Dominican Republic?

One of the most attractive things about the Dominican Republic is its beautiful, warm weather year-round. You can embark on a yacht charter in the Dominican Republic at almost any time throughout the year as you’ll have average high temperatures of 28°C. You’ll experience the highest levels of precipitation in the summer months, so it’s best to visit between January and April or November to December when there is little to no rainfall.

Get a boat rental in the Dominican Republic with a skipper for a relaxing holiday!

Even if you have a licence to sail, having a skipper on board your Dominican Republic yacht charter will enhance your holiday experience. Skippers are nautical experts that will handle everything like docking, anchoring and navigating the vessel so that you can enjoy a worry-free holiday. But perhaps the best part about having a skipper on board is that they are usually locals of the area, which means that they can take you to see everything on your sailing itinerary and if you’re lucky, show you some hidden gems that tourists don’t know about. For worry-free sailing and a more customised holiday, choose a skippered vessel.

What type of yacht should I charter in the Dominican Republic?

The type of vessel you choose for your boat rental in the Dominican Republic will depend on how much time you are planning to spend on board. If you only want to sail for a few days, we’d recommend a motorboat since they are typically rented by the day, and they are faster than other vessels, allowing you to see everything in no time. For a longer holiday, you’ll want a weekly charter such as a catamaran or a yacht. These spacious vessels are fully equipped with all of the amenities you’ll need to accommodate you throughout your stay. If you would like a more traditional sailing experience, a sailboat is a good option however, you should always choose one with a skipper since these boats are notorious for being difficult to navigate.

No matter what sort of vessel you’re looking for, you’re sure to find the best one to accompany you on your journey and make your yacht charter in the Dominican Republic a holiday to remember.
