Yacht charter in Barcelona with Click&Boat

Barcelona is a vibrant city located on the northeastern coast of Spain, known for its rich culture, stunning architecture, and Mediterranean cuisine. It is one of the most visited cities in Europe, attracting millions of tourists every year.

There is no city that can compete with Barcelona when it comes to style, culture, art and atmosphere. While in Barcelona you’ll spend your time strolling down the iconic promenade of Las Ramblas, exploring the trendy and historic neighbourhoods like the Gothic Quarter and El Born, and seeing the impressive modernist architecture of Antoni Gaudi.

Afterwards you can relax on the sandy beaches of Barceloneta, Nova Icaria, Bogatell and nearby beaches like Sitges and Castelldefels. The best way to discover everything that Barcelona has to offer is by boat. A boat hire in Barcelona is a unique and exciting way to explore the city and its surrounding areas. From the water, you can admire the stunning skyline of Barcelona and enjoy the warm Mediterranean breeze.

There are many reasons to rent a boat in Barcelona. You can celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or proposal, or simply spend a day on the water with friends and family. A boat rental in Barcelona is also an excellent choice for water sports enthusiasts, as you can go swimming, snorkelling, and even scuba diving. Barcelona has a rich sailing heritage, with the city hosting several sailing events each year, including the prestigious Barcelona World Race. There are also many sailing schools and clubs in the city, offering sailing courses and regattas for both beginners and experienced sailors.

What is the price of a boat charter in Barcelona?

In Barcelona, you can rent different types of boats, such as sailboats, motorboats, RIBs, catamarans, gulets, jet skis, and yachts. Each type of boat has its unique features and benefits, depending on your preferences and budget.

The price of a Barcelona boat charter is different depending on the size and type of vessel, the time of year and how many people are on board. Of course, if you choose a vessel which has more amenities or a vessel with a skipper this will come at a higher cost. Below are some average prices of a Barcelona boat hire by boat type.

Sailboat

A Barcelona sailboat rental costs around €3,900/week in the high season and €2,200/week in the low season for 10 people.

Motorboat

The price of a Barcelona motorboat rental is around €360/day in the high season and €250/day in the low season for 6 people.

RIBS

A RIB costs around €380/day in the high season and €320/day in the low season for 6 people.

Catamaran

The price of a Catamaran charter in Barcelona is around €10,800/week in the high season and €5,700/week in the low season for 11 people.

Gulet

All of the gulets in our Barcelona fleet include a skipper on board the vessel. The average price of a skippered gulet is €19,500/week in the high season and €16,000/week in the low season for 10 people.

Jet ski

A jet ski will cost around €350/day for 2 people.

Yacht

All of the yachts in our Barcelona fleet include a skipper on board the vessel. The average price of a skippered yacht is €11,100/week in the high season and €6,600/week in the low season for 12 people.

What is included in the cost?

The cost of a Barcelona boat rentalusually includes the boat’s safety equipment, insurance, and taxes. Some boat owners may also include a skipper, crew, or water sports equipment in the cost, depending on the type of boat. However, it is always recommended to check the terms and conditions of the rental agreement to ensure what is included in the cost.

What type of boat is best for a Barcelona yacht charter?

With such a large Barcelona fleet, it can be hard to choose the right boat for you. It’s important to think about the type of holiday that you’re looking to have in order to make the right decision for your Barcelona boat rental. For a shorter holiday, we recommend a daily rental such as a motorboat or RIB. If you’re planning a longer holiday, we recommend a vessel with a bit more space such as a yacht or a catamaran.

Finally, if you’re an avid sailor and you don’t mind swaying on the water, we recommend a sailboat for the most authentic sailing experience. No matter what you’re looking for, you’re sure to find the perfect vessel for your Barcelona sailing holiday with Click&Boat.

Hire a boat in Barcelona with or without a skipper!

A large number of our Barcelona yacht hire come with the option of renting a skipper and/or crew. Although this may come at an extra price, having a skipper on board will ensure that you have an even more enjoyable experience.

Safety is a top priority and a professional skipper will ensure that all safety measures are taken care of, making your sailing experience stress-free. Moreover, a skipper is an expert in the area, and can take you to the best spots, ensuring you get the most out of your time on the water. A skipper can also offer local knowledge, and make recommendations for dining, entertainment, and other activities in Barcelona.

For those who prefer to rent a boat without a skipper, there are some conditions and requirements that must be met. Renters must have a valid boating licence, and must demonstrate their knowledge and experience in handling the specific type of boat they wish to rent. Alternatively, for those wanting a bareboat charter who don’t have a boating licence, opt for a licence free boat.

What is the best time to rent a yacht in Barcelona?

The best time for a Barcelona yacht rental is from May to October, when the weather is warm and sunny and there is little to no rainfall. Of course, you’ll have the hottest weather in the summer months with average high temperatures of 27°C and water temperatures up to 28°C!

However, it’s important to note that the summer months are the high tourist season in Barcelona, which means that the city will be more crowded and the prices of a yacht charter will be higher. For better deals on boats, fewer crowds and temperate weather we recommend visiting at the tail ends of the high season, in either May or September.

Where to charter a yacht in Barcelona

There are several ports and marinas to charter a boat in Barcelona. Some of the most popular ports include Port Olímpic, Port Vell, and Port Forum. Port Olímpic is the closest to the city centre and offers a wide range of amenities, including restaurants, bars, and shopping. Port Vell is located at the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter and has a number of facilities, including showers and laundry facilities. Port Forum is a modern marina with excellent facilities and easy access to the beaches.

What can you see and do on a yacht rental in Barcelona?

There’s so much to see and do with a yacht hire in Barcelona. You will want to make the most out of the time you have to explore the city and its surrounding areas. Here is a list of some of our must-do activities.

  • Learn about modernist architecture and the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi by seeing some of his most iconic buildings such as the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, La Pedrera and the various buildings in Parc Guell.
  • See the works of the famous artist Pablo Picasso at the Picasso Museum.
  • Explore the coastline and visit the many beautiful beaches, such as Barceloneta and Ocata Beach.
  • Hike up the mountains of Tibidabo and Montjuic to see stunning views of the city and sea.
  • Sail to nearby places like the beautiful beachside town of Sitges, which has some of the best beaches in Catalonia where you can practise watersports like snorkelling, scuba diving, surfing and wakeboarding.
  • Take a mini sailing trip to Tarragona and view the ancient ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When you’re done you can soak up the sun on various Blue Flag Beaches.

If you are looking for a longer sailing holiday, Barcelona's location on the Mediterranean coast makes it an ideal base for exploring nearby coastal regions. A popular destination is the nearby islands of Mallorca, Ibiza, and Menorca, which offer crystal-clear waters, stunning scenery, and a relaxed atmosphere. Additionally, the Costa Brava region offers some of the most picturesque and unspoiled beaches in the Mediterranean Sea.

We visited the coast of Garraf, Sitges, the beach of Castelldefels, Gavá, and continued pas the airport and commercial harbour where we could see the skyline of Barcelona, before getting back on time to watch the Sunset over the hills of Garraf.
