Yacht charter in Palma de Mallorca with Click&Boat

Palma de Mallorca is the capital city of one of the most sought-after tourist destinations for sailing: Mallorca. Mallorca is one of the Balearic Islands, a Spanish island archipelago that receives millions of tourists annually. Other islands in the Balearics include Menorca, Formentera and Ibiza, which is famous for its vibrant nightlife and prestigious nightclubs.

With a yacht charter in Palma de Mallorca, you have access to the beautiful island of Mallorca and if you have time, you can go on island-hopping in this idyllic archipelago. The most famous landmark in Palma de Mallorca is the majestic cathedral La Seu, which you can admire from the water. On the northern and northwestern parts of the island, you can feast your eyes on dramatic cliffs and coves that are not accessible by car. If you want to experience the very best of Palma de Mallorca and the Balearics, do it from a boat!

What can you see and do on a boat rental in Palma de Mallorca?

With a yacht charter in Palma de Mallorca, you’ll have access to not only the city, but the entire island, which is the largest of the Balearic archipelago. If you have time, you’ll even get the chance to see the rest of the islands in the archipelago and maybe other parts of Spain. With so much to do in so little time, it can be overwhelming but don’t worry, here are some of our favourite things to do on a sailing holiday in Palma.

  • Stroll down the narrow streets of Palma and visit the shops, restaurants and cafes as well as the iconic gothic cathedral overlooking the city.
  • Get a taste of art at the Joan Miro museum, where you can learn about the Mallorcan artist Joan Miro, and see some beautiful gardens surrounding the building.
  • See the lush greenery at Hort del Rei Park where you’ll be surrounded by beautiful fountains and plantlife.
  • Taste the local cuisine at the Mercat de Santa Catalina, where you’ll find fresh produce and island delicacies.
  • View the majestic rock formation of Es Pontas.
  • Discover the most famous caves on the island: Cuevas del Drach, as well as one of the largest underground lakes in the world, Lake Martel.
  • Sunbathe on the best beaches on the island including Cala Formentor, Es Calo des Moro, S’Amarador, Sa Calobra and Cala Pi.

What is the best time to rent a boat in Palma de Mallorca ?

For hot weather and little to no precipitation, visit Palma de Mallorca in the summertime. During the summer months, you’ll experience ideal weather for sailing, with high temperatures of 29°C and warm water temperatures for taking a swim. However, the summer is when tourists from all over come to Mallorca, which means that prices of boats will be at their highest. For slightly lower temperatures but better prices, we recommend a yacht charter in Mallorca in April or May.

Skippered yacht charter in Palma de Mallorca

Of course, if you have a licence to sail, you might prefer to be the captain of your yacht charter in Mallorca, but we always recommend having a skipper or crew on board to enhance your sailing experience. Typically, there are extra costs associated with having a skipper on board but they are well worth it to sail with complete tranquillity, in safe hands! Skippers are sailing experts who handle everything from docking and anchoring to navigating the vessel, so you don’t have to worry about anything but enjoying Palma de Mallorca. The best part is that they are usually locals and they can give you tips about where to go and what to do on your boat rental, so that you can have the best holiday possible! Charter a yacht in Mallorca with a skipper for the holiday of a lifetime.

What type of boat is best for a Palma de Mallorca yacht charter?

At Click&Boat we have many options for a yacht charter in Mallorca, so choosing the right vessel for your boat trip might be overwhelming. When choosing a boat, think about the conditions of your holiday. For a shorter trip, RIBS and motorboats are sufficient because they are usually rented by the day, and they go fast, allowing you to see everything on your itinerary in no time. For a longer holiday, you’ll need a more spacious vessel, equipped with amenities to ensure your comfort and safety on board. Catamarans and yachts are great options for a week or more.

Avid sailors might like a sailboat, as they provide an authentic sailing experience, though they aren’t recommended for novice sailors or people who are prone to seasickness, as they tend to sway on the water. No matter which type of vessel you choose, Click&Boat is here to make sure you have the boat you need to make your sailing holiday complete.

Visited Palma, Andratx, Portals, Saint Elm etc. All very nice. Very clean and the weather was beautiful. Only downside is it’s difficult to find good food in some places
