Hire a boat in Alghero, Italy

Alghero is located on the northwest coast of Sardinia. At first glance, it looks like a fortress under siege, with its high rampart walls. The rampart walls that protect it from invading seas have also helped preserve its medieval charm. On a faultlessly clear day, the city’s medieval skyline majestically mirrors itself on the luminous sea below. The other side of Alghero opens to several stunning beaches, magnificent bays and natural parks. A boat hire in Alghero will reveal the mystique of this medieval Kingdom paradise.

Visit the Island Hamlet of Fertilia

A few boat kilometers away from Alghero is the tiny settlement of Fertilia. The palm-lined streets and low rise architecture of this Hamlet take you back to another time when life was less complex and freedom was in the air. This is an island in no hurry. Its laid back ambience and pine fringed beaches act like a balm to sooth your senses. The airyness of Fertillia contrasts sharply with the medieval somberness of its larger neighbor - Alghero.

Don’t miss the Capo Caccia Lighthouse

This active 19th century lighthouse was originally built in 1864. With a focal height of 186mts, it is the highest lighthouse in Italy. The lighthouse stands on the precipice of a vertical cliff, at the base of which are a series of subterranean grottos, the most famous of these is Neptune’s Grotto. These grottos play peek-a-boo with the waves, so it best to hire a boat in Alghero to see them close up front.

Amazing place with lots of bars and restaurants. The marina is so beautiful with views to die for. Hiring a boat is a must when coming here. The water is so perfect and blue. Some wonderful coves where you can throw the anchor in and swim in the sea. 100% recommend

A fine balance of unspoilt coastline and historic Sardinian town. A town with all essentials to stay local on your holiday or to use as a base to explore Sardinia.
