Yacht charter in Chania

Crete, the largest Greek island, lends itself to a unique boating adventure. Circumnavigating the island may take you ten days to two weeks, but a yacht charter in Crete is worth the trouble as you will have the opportunity to discover remote beaches and beautiful coves. Your trip can start in Chania, arguably the island’s most beautiful city on its northwest side. Its medieval architecture will enchant you, while its beaches will remind of you of exotic places in the Carribean and the local cuisine will please your sense.

Discover Chania and Crete on a boat

Chania can be the starting point of a cruise along Crete’s long coast. With a boat rental in Chania you can sail westwards towards one of the Mediterranean Sea’s most beautiful beaches, Balos, located in a lagoon accessible mainly by boat. It’s a sandy beach on the westernmost tip of Crete, famous for its crystal clear waters and idyllic setting. You can then head southwest towards Palaiochora and Agia Roumeli, both equally picturesque and beautiful. The rugged beauty of the small town of Chora Sfakion will take your breath away, while a visit to the nearby village of Loutro – accessible only by boat – is a most if you opt for a yacht charter in Chania. And if you want to sail the extra mile, head even farther south to the small islet of Gavdos – Greece’s and Europe’s southernmost point!

Chanie is a wonderful old port town with many facets. It is definitely worth planning a trip to the great port city. The view of the coastal town from the sea is also impressive.

Lovely city, worth a visit. Harbour is very nice and you must make sure you hire a boat or go on a sea trip as there is so much to see in the area and the sea is a lovely colour and temperature. Chania comes alive at night. No fish though.

I would suggest this boat & boat trip to Balos. It was really wonderful and special. The crew was terrific and we felt very safe with the captain. He did a great job of navigating some of the rougher waters and always made us feel comfortable. They were happy to take our photos and pour us wine! Lunch was great as well and even though they said it was "light", we felt like it was a nice big lunch.
