Gorgeous town at beautiful Liguria coast. From there its an easy drive to Portofino (also public transport), with some beautiful beaches on the way. Mind that it will get crowded in July and August. Town itself is nice with lots of bars and restaurants. I would definitely recommend a stay at Santa Margherita Ligure

Great base to explore this beautiful area including this beautiful seaside. Here is something for everybody’s taste: from the high-end and posh Portofino to the more relaxed and low-key Camogli. Santa Margherite itself is quite busy and vibrante but with a slower and very charming old city (behind the beach promenade and port)

we have sailed from portofino to camoglie. occasional anchor for a fresh dive. Santa Margaritha is a fantastic village / town. very lively. we recommend to also enter portofino itself. the fantastic bays are wonderful for snorkeling and diving. it is so clear that you can see all kinds of fish.

We enjoyed a lovely day on the water with Andrea. He was easy to communicate with, punctual and friendly. We can highly recommend renting with him. The price seems competitive with other options. Andrea picked four of us up in Santa Margherita for a tour of Portofino, Camogli, San Fruttuoso and the Italian coast. He is very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful (made our lunch reservations ashore) - made for a great day on the water. Would definitely recommend booking with him; we will again next time we are back to Portofino!
