What can you see and do on a yacht charter in Phuket?

Phuket is famous for four things: culture, cuisine, waterports and beaches. There’s so much to see and do that it can be hard to narrow down but not to worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a list of some of our favourite things on our Phuket itinerary.

  • Culture: Head into Phuket town and stroll down the streets to see inspiring architecture and visit some of the museums such as the Phuket Trickeye Museum. Pay respects at the Chinese temple Jui Tui Shrine or see the largest and most popular temple, Wat Chalong. When you’re done visiting the 29 temples in Phuket, head to the top of Nakkerd Hills to see the Phuket Big Buddha, one of the most famous landmarks in the country.
  • Cuisine: Eat your way through the unique Naka Market! This night market happens on weekends and here you’ll find delicious street food like buttered corn and deep-fried bananas as well as giant pineapple.
  • Watersports: Thrill seekers can enjoy thrilling watersports like wakeboarding, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. If you fancy something a bit more relaxed you can go snorkelling in the crystalline water and deep dive to see coral, sea turtles, stingrays and even sharks! But perhaps the most popular watersport is sea kayaking to the nearby islands like the famous James Bond island and Phang Nga Bay. Here you can see surreal views and explore caves!
  • Beaches: Swim in the turquoise waters and sunbathe on the blinding white sands of some of Phuket’s most famous beaches like Patong Beach, Kata, Rawai and Karon. At Karon Beach, there is a viewpoint where you can see miles of coastline of the Andaman Sea.

Other things to do on a boat hire in Phuket:

  • Go ziplining through the dense foliage in the rainforest.
  • Take a plunge and bungee jump near Patong Beach!
  • Bar hop on Bangla Road and visit the numerous clubs to keep you entertained all night long.

What is the best time to hire a boat in Phuket?

The best time for a boat hire in Phuket would be between December and April with average temperatures of 29°C and water temperatures up to 30°C! Due to its fabulous, warm weather, Phuket receives many tourists at this time of year so if you want to skip the crowds, hiring a boat at the tail ends of the high season is a good option; it is a bit less busy in December or April and the weather is still perfect for smooth sailing.

Do I need a skipper on board my Phuket yacht charter?

If you want to make the most of your boat trip in Phuket without having to worry about the logistics of navigating the vessel, hiring a boat with a skipper, or even an entire crew, is your best choice at Click&Boat! Our experienced skippers are masters of their craft and will tailor the itinerary to your specific requests. They will show you the lesser-known places, the secluded beaches and the most beautiful bays. In fact, they may even teach you sailing tricks and techniques and let you take the helm!

If you are a proud owner of a sailing license and want to explore new horizons, feel free to pursue a bareboat rental. At Click&Boat you will find many boats, from motorboats to sailboats and catamarans, that you can rent without a skipper!

What type of boat is best for a yacht charter in Phuket?

The ideal type of vessel for your yacht charter in Phuket will depend on the goals of your holiday. If you want a shorter holiday full of sightseeing and adventure, a motorboat or a RIB are good options as they are typically hired by the day and they go faster than other vessels, allowing you to see a lot in no time. If you have a longer holiday in mind of a week or more, you should choose a vessel with more space and amenities on board to accommodate all of your needs, such as a catamaran or a yacht. For avid sailors, sailboats are a great option because they provide you with an authentic sailing experience, but they aren’t recommended for novice sailors or people who are prone to seasickness! Whatever you have in mind, Click&Boat has got what you need to help you have the holiday of a lifetime!

Phuket is a very easy to reach location to start a nice trip. Many flights available and a short drive to the harbour. Prior to departure we determined the route together based on our preferences, which always very nice. We went to sail to smaller islands in the area which was lovely!
