An experience worth living! However, our barge was too small (barge entrance, terrace access) for 4 adults and a dog. If I did it again, I'd choose a terrace downstairs, which opens directly onto the kitchen. It's hard to find restaurants that aren't full or open outside of Cahors! So bring something to eat on the boat to save the evening! Be sure to find out where the water points are to refuel the barge, as they're not always visible... but they are indicated in the information provided by the harbor master's office. The tank only lasts about 2 days... Bring sneakers for going through the locks, which are quite demanding! There are a few to get through, and it can be difficult with two people. Aside from that, be careful not to overload your luggage, as once on the boat, it becomes difficult to move around. Remember to anchor early, otherwise all the places on the quays are taken, and I don't recommend spending the night on the Cahors quayside, town side, because we found ourselves surrounded by drunken young people and others who had decided to have a little party... we weren't very reassured, especially since we couldn't lock the barge's front door! The quayside opposite, on the pool side, is safer!
