Description of Danilo's boat without licence
Boat Without Licence Rio 600 40hp
Rio 600 is rented in perfect condition, 40 hp Tohatsu engine, ideal for spending days on the boat with family, friends or simply for a day of fishing. Equipped with awning, hand shower, radio with USB port, rod holders, lockers that allow you to stow everything you need to spend fun days without depriving yourself of comfort. The boat is located at Catania harbour. This allows you to move easily both to the north, from Aci Trezza, and Acireale and to the south, towards the golden beaches of Plaja. The possibility of using the 24-hour garage service (car / motorbike) inside the marina, allows you to dedicate yourself in total safety and relaxation to the beautiful Sicilian sea. The price does not include the cost of fuel. Boat license is NOT required for the management of this boat. A skipper service is available for 150 euros per day!

The owner of the boat and the professional people of the marina were very professional and welcoming and cool. The tour was perfect. I personaly recommand Danilo and I will take another tour with him next year. Ludivine
The boat and the route we took were great. BUT at the end during the return, we felt scammed. They asked us to pay €100 for fuel, even though at the beginning we saw that filling up the tank from half to full costs just €50 as we went to refill the boat with Alessandra at the start. When we returned it, the tank was slightly under half. So clearly, half a tank costs around €50, not €100. We had to call Danilo, and it turned into a long, stressful back-and-forth. The experience at the end really ruined what was otherwise a great day. It would be much better if the boat would always be picked up and returned full to avoid such confusion and if all payments were processed by Danylo and not Alessandra. For future refernce of anyone renting this boat: Remember a full tank is roughly €100 and half a tank is roughly €50. Also remember to take a picture of the tank status at pick up!!
Danilo was super quick to respond and very communicative. The boat was perfect and great value for money. Alessandra was super helpful and kind. We had a great day out and would recommend everyone to book with Danilo.
We had the best day ever. We were running late and they were so accommodating. We used a captain and he showed us all the best places. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t book with Danilo if you are in Catania!

We spend an amazing day on Danilo’s Boat. Communication with him was good, he replied to all our questions really fast and made the booking very easy. Sadly he wasn’t there the day, his colleague Alessandra gave us a short instruction. She seemed annoyed and not motivated. Nevertheless we had an excellent boat day. Good to know is that you won’t need a full tank, even if you drive a lot around even in full speed. We had some trouble parking the boat in the Harbour cause the boat slots are quite small, Danilo came up with a quick solution and some guys from the Harbour helped us. 10/10 would recommend
The communication and organization were excellent. The briefing and service on-site were also great. Unfortunately, the boat was a bit dirty, but it wasn’t a big issue. However, the anchor was missing, so we could only tie up to the available buoys and couldn’t anchor in the open sea. I would definitely book through Danilo again.

Danilo is a great host! Was very helpful and welcoming! The radio on the boat was broken, that is the only negative thing!
We had unpleasant experience with Alessandra, first she been late with 1h, no indication for pick up, only direction to the marina, wich is pretty wide, when I asked for indication she send again directions for marina. After she was very late for 1h, she passed us without greeting us or guide to office, she went to get a coffee and when she came back she was just looking at us even though we sent a picture with us at the location. We asked her if she is Alessandra and then she answered: “yes, why are you not at the spot that I gave you?” And she gave us just the location of the entire port, where at least 5 check points. When we got to the boat the cold water shower didn t worked, she explained all the instructions in a rude attitude and asked if we had any questions again in a way that you wouldn’t want to ask anything. We came back earlier with half a tank of gas and on the reviews was said that we would give us back the money left for the remaining gas and also the same rude attitude, not familiar with customer service at all. At least the boy helping her was nicer. Owner's response: It is the first time with this kind of feedback from a customer. First of all, thank you for your opinion. We respect everyone's feedback. However, I want to explain something regarding it: 1) Alessandra text you at 07.52 in order to inform you on her delay "problem with car, arrive at 10.00 - sorry, please you can stay out one hour more". At 7.53 you wrote "ok, no problem". 2) Regarding the place of meeting: generally we sent the location (gps coordinates) one day before or we receive a message in order to have further information. Sorry if this message -for the first time- has not arrived to your mobile; 3) Hand shower: the day before, due to Etna's black sand, the engine became out of order: we had repair the same day of your rent, in the evening (sorry, but it is not easier to find the electrician ready for us at 8 o clock). It was the first time in several years. 4) Fuel: we don't give back money for the fuel always. If you have read a feedback of another customer (Crish) this not means automatically refund of the difference; Last but not least: Alessandra, at the end of the rent ask you the feedback of the day and you did't say nothing regarding complains. Furthermore, during the day (or at the end), you you could call me for any question/trubles. I didn't receive any calls. Anyway, I hope to see you in the future in order to show that your bad experience was the first one (after more than hundreds of rent) and we hope the last one.
We Had a great time with the boat we rented from Danilo , also Allesandra was very willing and cooperative toexplain everything you need and wanted to know. I very recomand Danilo and co for renting a boat . SUPER !!! Daniel
The boat was absolutely amazing! The communication went smoothly and the spot was easy to find. We had the best time ever on the boat, discovering the open sea and different coastal towns. The only problem we experienced is the following: when opening the gate to the anchor of the boat, it looks like it’s already connected with the rope. Mind you: it’s not! This will not be told in the beginning, so it’s something to keep in mind. Overall, it was an amazing experience that I would definitely recommend. Even when you don’t have any experience with sailing!

Danilo was amazing, I was very sick at the start of my holiday and last minute had to rearrange the day. He was amazing and changed the day for me so we could still enjoy the boat trip when I was feeling better. We had an amazing time on the boat, very spacious and clean and we had fun jumping into the sea and driving around. Would highly reccomend.

Everything was as described. The boat was in good condition. Alessandra's briefing was good, and she was always available during the rental. When we spontaneously shortened the rental period, we also received a discount on fuel. We would rent the boat from Danilo again anytime.
Pros: - Danilo was super easy to reach and extremely friendly, he took care of everything as best he could - We spontaneously booked the boat the evening before and everything was very straightforward Cons: - The condition of the boat was poor and very old; the freshwater shower didn't work, it was very dirty, the awning was half broken, one of the two flaps of the anchor cover was loose (because the hinge was broken) and the boat was falling apart in some places. In addition, additional lines for mooring were missing (there was only one line on board) - The boat was stated to be built in 2023, which we consider very questionable due to its condition - We had several contacts, but were not given any instructions on site (life jackets, equipment, functions, etc.) *******Owner's response****** Dear Mario, I am very sorry to read your review and I will answer you in detail. I thank you for the positive points you mentioned, however: a) When you say that the fresh water shower does not work regularly: it was used the day before and the day after. You could have easily contacted us to ask for assistance and we would have helped you get it working. b) You say "the boat is falling apart in some places": this seems to me to be too critical a comment, since the boat was completely renovated in 2023 (if you want, I can send you the invoices) and I am not aware of any such damage that could be described as such or any indications from other guests. Nor do I think that the other reviews made a few days earlier say the same thing and I can send you recent photos of the boat to show its condition. It would have been nice of you to inform us of these defects upon your return so that we could react to them immediately. I would like to stress that you booked a boat at 11pm the night before (without contacting beforehand as it was an instant booking) and the pick-up time was set for 9am on October 14th. I asked you to postpone it by about half an hour because the person in charge (Alessandra) was away and had to delegate the pick-up. You too were delayed and we waited for you without further ado. The only point where I think you might be a little confused is that when you returned at 6:30pm I asked you how your day went (and advised you not to leave your luggage visible or in the trunk of your rental car). You mentioned the only problem was the fuel pump, which was not in the port. I explained to you that the agreed gas station had closed early and you had to drive 10 minutes further.
