The Mare 5.50 is a 5,5m Motorcraft, reliable and safe boat that can easily host 6 people. With the 4-stroke, 80hp Mercrury, it gives a cruising speed of 21knots to its passengers, with less than 1L per mile, and a full speed of 35 knots. The boat has shade, and is comfortable to ride on. From Marathi, you can visit the beaches of Seitan Limania, Kalami, Kalyves, Almyrida, Kera and almost all the bay of Souda. The briefing was generally good and informative, but unfortunately, the person who did the briefing didn't tell us about the red "battery switch" button. We must have touched it accidentally, when putting away our backpacks after a short break, without noticing. Consequently, we couldn't restart the boat after our break. While trying to resolve the problem, the waves made the boat hit the rocks. Fortunately, we were rescued very quickly and nobody was hurt, but the engine was partly broken. Afterwards, the person who did the briefing didn't want to accept the fact that the accident happened because he didn't tell us where we could find the red button, but since it was easily accessible, he should have told us. Since we took the premium insurance, we had to pay 400€ own risk directly, without even knowing the official amount of damage. The guy just made a rough estimation. All in all, this trouble could have been prevented. We were treated in a very unprofessional way.
